My apologies, AIC. But your post was in direct violation of our forum rule number two regarding personal information. Rule number two states: 2) No personal information... No phone numbers, real names, addresses, email addresses, etc. The reason we have this rule is because there are unscrupulous types out there that monitor forums for the purpose of trying to steal people's identities.
This rule not only applies in the Forums, but in the auctions themselves. I'm happy to listen to people's complaints about what they don't like, and we'll always try to address their issues with fixes or the modification of policy. But breaking our rules is not the way to get positive attention. Please don't post personal data. Thanks. |

Oh, I always have keep every communication on every auction I bid on or list for sale until 2 weeks after the sale has been completed to every ones satisfied. I even keep all the questions from nonwinning bidders until the auctions close. I keep all the email I receive from sellers I ask questions of until I feel its ok to delete them sometimes that is months. I have this little folder called "auctions" that is save them in. So that seem like the "he said/she said" don't hurt me at all. |

But I didn't post any personal info just company info. No one could steel my info from what was there and if doing so gets me kicked off I can always use the account over at the green gun site. |

One only need look at the "penny auctions" to find lots of sellers who include their phone number, email address, etc. in the text of their auction. |

I still don't know exactly why you are trying to do this change. Yes, I realize what you SAY are the reasons, but this seems all to much like a liberal's reaction to a situation.........trying to protect us from ourselves. I, for one, do not want, or need, protection from myself. I have ALWAYS tried to be upfront with EVERY transaction, and liked it the way it was. You, as AA, have to trust those that have made this site what it is. While I am a relative newcomer, I feel I have at least contributed my small part in making this site a responsible place. Please consider the responses you have recieved and weigh what you may POTENTIALLY lose in business to what you may be able to PREVENT from happening with off-line sales, and I think even a third grader will see the down side to this system. If and when you come up with a system that you think will work, I highly recommend that you run it by your members first, before blindsiding us with it. Until then please put it back the way it was or you WILL lose in the big picture. Respectfully, Tom @ Petesguns |

The above missing post is included in this one. It seams like I remembering saving your butt one time Manny. It was back when you had the software set up so anyone could edit anyone else's auction anytime they wanted and you didn't even know it and good ol' AIC showed you how in person. So you spent the next hour writing code to fix your 4+ year long goofup. Yeah guys it true, for many years anyone at any time they wanted could have lowered the reserve on any reserve to what every they wanted. They could have closed any auction at any time or any thing else an auction owner could do. This realy took place, and it was not until January 20th of 2004 give or take a few days untill it got fixed. I was fairly new to AA at the time (less than a year). I didn't know any of the AA staff yet. when I found the glitch in the sight and sent an email to AA never heard a word. So I went fo GB and opened an account and made sure my auctions couldn't be edited by others, over there. January came along and I droped by AA both at the Shot Show and told AA Bob about there glitch. He said; "no" I said; Yeah. AA bob tried it and found it was true, we showed Manny and he turned a pale white. Jumped on his laptop and comenced to writing code untill it was fixed. So Manny are you going to handcuff us to your California way of doing auctions? What is next GunPal, where we send all our guns through you and you freeze any of them you like and call it protecting "us from our selfs"? |

AIC, glad to see you're back posting and thanks again for your help. Tell Ashes38 hello for me and thank her for her help in getting you back over here to post a thing or two. I tell you, I'd certainly rather read a new little bit of Cowboy Poetry or A Chucky story about right now than watching this new little bru-ha-ha. I'm not sure what recounting all your appreciated help to AuctionArms in the past has to do with resistance to instituting these new changes, though. Give us some productive comments on what causes you heartburn with the new communication system. Specifics, man, specifics! We can address,analyze and work on those. A simple "I don't like it", while informative, doesn't do to much to help us address the problem and make it better. Disparaging remarks, or as a wise man I know from Nevada calls them "belittling remarks" are really not helpful at all. |

AA Bob you know I can't help telling storys. Heck you even told Ashes38 you missed them, and there might even be a bit of retaliation for Manny removing my post though not much. But if there is its just short term irrition. I really do like you guys and most of the time you do great work but ever now and again a doosie comes down the line form you fellows in AA and I just point it out in my absurd way and that old story was mostly to remind Manny that he is only human and can make mistakes, and just maybe this is one of them! |
