I've removed it.  All he put was an item number for the Neutral - no actual complaint.

I will review feedback, should you request it.  I generally only allow Negative feedback when our rules have been broken.

Bobski, are you suggesting that when someone is watching an auction and it closes, that we NOT move those watchers over to the new item when it's relisted?  Wouldn't someone who has been watching an item want to know if it goes up for auction again?

Prizes for September are going out shortly.  Sorry for the delay.

That's weird.  Why did someone send you a $1400 money order for a $400 rifle?  Was it for an auction, or is this for something else?

Yeah... he got put on timeout.  The timeout has expired, so we'll probably hear from him shortly.

kag1834, I appreciate that.  What I especially hate is when a newbie gets taken.  Totally spoils the entire experience for that person - basically forever.  And many newbies can't tell when they're talking to a legitimate seller vs a scammer.  Unfortunately, I've had to take the step of limiting auctions between newbies. If a seller doesn't have any feedback, only those with feedback themselves can bid on those auctions.  That will cut down on newbies getting scammed, but that doesn't stop scammers from trying to sneak in.

sillygrandpa, you're moving in the right direction.  I don't know about limiting the dollar value.  If something is worth more than the dollar value we choose, how's that going to work?  My ironclad rule about creating policy is as follows:  If I wouldn't tolerate it, it's not going to be policy.  That means a bond is just out.  The "hidden pictures" idea has some merit.  Maybe not of the house, but a clear pic of the seller holding the gun isn't bad...

That's hilarious.  Of course he's willing to "sell" it to you!  He doesn't actually have it, so any money he collect from this little enterprise is gravy.  I'm wondering if he's caught on that I'm the high bidder on everything he's selling?  I'm debating letting the auction end, and pretending to send him a payment.  Maybe I can string him along....

There should be an easier way for someone to start out.  Personally, I would just buy something and ask for feedback.  At least that's something.

Any thoughts on what we can do to make it easier for new legit sellers to start out?
