cyro: I concur with you on this cyro, however, it is an "evaluation" of what was described, photographed, and sent to Joe. I sent him 43 close up photos of the firearm that I wanted him to review and give me an idea of what the selling price should be. This is what Joe and the appraisal industry refers to as "A consultation and approximation of the firearm with a verbal price". IT IS NOT AN APPRAISAL

The following is taken directly from what Joe originally sent me:

I offer two services:

1 Consultation Services: when acting in this capacity I am not acting as an Appraiser, but as a consultant. As a Consultant, I offer verbal price consultations/approximations. Price Approximations/Consultations are NOT appraisals. All appraisals are formal written documents. Price approximations are supplied verbally, i.e., not in written form. Usually speaking, I can usually provide a verbal approximation of price for between $9 and $20 per item. In cases of verbal approximations, USPAP does not apply and is not applicable.

2 Appraisal Services: when acting in this capacity, all matters regarding value are transmitted in a written appraisal report. Usually speaking, when acting in this capacity, I charge $150 per hour. All written Appraisals are intended to be in full compliance with USPAP.

Formal written appraisals are usually required for matters pertaining to estates, IRS matters, divorces, insurance matters, court related circumstances, etc. Verbal Approximations are usually used for more informal matters and for matters involving pricing an item for sale, under specific circumstances. Pricing an item for sale makes no comment as to an item's value and the reverse is also true.

In hopes that this may clear up some questions for all interested in this service. Again, I was very satisfied with the service that I received from Joe for $20.00. Just my opinion Folks....

That's for sure Nynn - the fur would be flying. I have had this one for quite a while, it is like new and about 75 years old - bores are like mirrors. I am going to place her on the auction - don't think I will start this one at a penny though. She's just a little to high priced and condition that I would hate to let her go on the penny auction. Just about broke my heart (did break my wallet) when the Thomas Jefferson $2500.00 Cased Flintlock Pistols went for less than $800.00. Oh well, sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. I will tell you that the "Buy It Now" price that I place on it will be way below what Joe said the value was. So, it will be a bargain and one nice shotgun.
