Hi, Sellers. Manny here at AuctionArms.com, Inc.>/p>

First off, I'd like to thank all you loyal sellers for using Auction Arms. We appreciate your business at the BEST place on the Internet for Firearms Auctions.

Next, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce a little change you may notice over the next few days. As you all know, Auction Arms was founded on the notion that a seller could auction an item and not have to pay any listing fees or commission fees for the service until an actual sale was made. We believe that this is important to you and we intend to maintain that ability for you, our great customers. We have held to this basic notion, and have not increased any of our special optional listing fees or commission rates for over five years. As businessmen however, I'm sure you can all understand and appreciate the very real challenges and problems of increasing costs. Unfortunately, Auction Arms is not immune from the impact of these increasing costs.

Determined to hold our fees at current levels, we have decided to meet the problem of increased costs through more actively selling our advertising inventory. We are currently in negotiations and expect to reach an agreement with a advertising broker to market and sell our advertising space. You may in the very near future notice that new banner advertisements are showing up on our pages, and in your auction listings.

We also recognize that some sellers may strongly prefer not to have advertising banners show up in their auctions. To this end, you will also soon notice an additional special feature when you are listing an item. This special feature option will give you the ability to opt out of having an advertising banner show up in your auction. You will be able to select this feature in each new and relisted auction. The initial fee for this special feature will be a nominal fee of $0.25 per auction listing.

Again, I appreciate your business and loyalty, and I trust this small change will not be disruptive.

Thanks for using AuctionArms.com. We appreciate your business at the BEST place on the Internet for Firearms Auctions!

WILLIE TA

THE QUESTION IS DO WE REALLY NEED THAT ON A SELLERS PAGE WITH BUYERS INFO??? THERE IS ONLY SO MANY TIMES I CAN LOOK AT THE SAME CRAP OVER AND OVER!

Elitist Joes Custom Guns, try "Ad Subtract" software. It won't allow banners unless you tell it to.

Petesguns Elitist, that will only disallow them on your own computer, but your customers will still see your competitor's banners over your auctions, won't they?

Elitist I suppose that's true. But...at least it will lower your blood pressure by lulling you into a false sense of security. That's better than nothing.

Speaking as a buyer, I have to say that even when a banner does appear, I completely ignore it. I never see anything above the top line with the auction title and number. Furthermore, I "cruise" for specific items and if one shows up, my scrutiny of the details in the description is what matters, not what's whooshing past at the top of the screen. As soon as I scroll down, that's gone, anyway.

(no avatar) I've opened two just for the heck of it. I blank them out in my mind so they don't exist for me any more, just like I do ads on TV. I have to be doing different things at one time to keep my focus in check. I'm reading a guns magazine, listening to to XM Radio and typing this now. Horse Trader

(no avatar) To all-- for what it's worth if I were you I would look at as many banners as you have time for, and try and deal with as many as you can. These companies have paid good money to try and improve there business so lets all support them. It will help you and AA. Whats wrong with that. Tks

Petesguns Yone, as I stated many times, I have no problem with the banners themselves. MY problem was having to pay to NOT have them appear over my auction. I just don't like the idea of having a POTENTIAL competitor's banner ads appearing over my items for sale. Yes, the ads are good for AA's bottom line, and hopefully some flows into site improvement. I am SURE you would feel differently if you would were a seller on this site as well. As a buyer, it is not a problem. You ought to try selling once in a while, and when a banner appears over your auction, maybe you would feel differently, and then again, maybe not.

(no avatar) THE ONES THAT OWN THE BANNER SHOULD BE PAYING US TO ADVERTISE ON OUR SALE SPACE. BUT AA OWNS IT TILL WE SELL THEN WE BUY THE TIME. BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS RIGHT TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM NOT TO ADVERTISE ON IT.
