Hi, Sellers. Manny here at AuctionArms.com, Inc.>/p>

First off, I'd like to thank all you loyal sellers for using Auction Arms. We appreciate your business at the BEST place on the Internet for Firearms Auctions.

Next, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce a little change you may notice over the next few days. As you all know, Auction Arms was founded on the notion that a seller could auction an item and not have to pay any listing fees or commission fees for the service until an actual sale was made. We believe that this is important to you and we intend to maintain that ability for you, our great customers. We have held to this basic notion, and have not increased any of our special optional listing fees or commission rates for over five years. As businessmen however, I'm sure you can all understand and appreciate the very real challenges and problems of increasing costs. Unfortunately, Auction Arms is not immune from the impact of these increasing costs.

Determined to hold our fees at current levels, we have decided to meet the problem of increased costs through more actively selling our advertising inventory. We are currently in negotiations and expect to reach an agreement with a advertising broker to market and sell our advertising space. You may in the very near future notice that new banner advertisements are showing up on our pages, and in your auction listings.

We also recognize that some sellers may strongly prefer not to have advertising banners show up in their auctions. To this end, you will also soon notice an additional special feature when you are listing an item. This special feature option will give you the ability to opt out of having an advertising banner show up in your auction. You will be able to select this feature in each new and relisted auction. The initial fee for this special feature will be a nominal fee of $0.25 per auction listing.

Again, I appreciate your business and loyalty, and I trust this small change will not be disruptive.

Thanks for using AuctionArms.com. We appreciate your business at the BEST place on the Internet for Firearms Auctions!

Petesguns The very point that AA makes is that it is NOT our sale space. We are only paying THEM for the listing, not the page. They can post advertising from whoever ponies up the bucks, and if the sellers don't like it, they have to buy that space themselves to eliminate the banners. Unfair world, yes, but it IS Manny's site after all, and as I was told, that's the way it is, PERIOD, end of discussion.

Now, with the disclosure that the ads were at least PARTLY responsible for the slowdown of late, I can only hope that AA will find a way to maintain and improve instead of degrade. Right now speed is good, but the ads are VERY slow in coming up, not that I care anyway.

(no avatar) In light of the changes that are likely because of the new ebay rules against listing gun parts it might be better to try and get some of the buyers and sellers from there HERE. I just checked the three pages of gun parts listings and found four items with actual bids. I did not make a judgement call on how over priced items were but just if there was a bid on the item. I have sold some stuff here and some stuff on ebay and have to admit that there were more active buyers on ebay. Some will say, well we are more knowledgeable here on AA, I would counter cheaper for sure but sellers have in the past gone where the money drew them. I plan on doing my part by listing a lot more items here and with reasonable prices, less than my web site or any catalog price. I would like to see this change in selling patterns pass without a lot of problems for sellers and buyers and a greatly increased market share for AA.

AA-bob John D. Bush, thanks for the endorsement. Spread the Gospel, folks. Best advertising is word of mouth. Do those sellers you've done business with over there a favor. Let them know we are here and ready to help them sell...and no listing fees either!

(no avatar) Since I've found out about this, through the AA forum, all my commuications with eBayers has a note tacked to it - come see me at http://www.auctionarms.com

I did something similar when eBay put a stop to guns being listed - I actually put a link in ads on eBay then to AA - which is no longer allowed.

(no avatar) Whatever it takes to keep you making money. One good thing about this is that advertisers will advertise their ads on Auction Arms and make even more viewers and that has to be good.
