Thread Title: "Server Outage....."
AuctionArmsCeo Our apologies. We've had some difficulty with a database server, but seem to have ironed things out. After pounding on a machine in our data center for the last twelve hours, I seem to have lost some coherence, so please bear with me. We were forced to restore from a backup taken in the early AM hours of the 15th, so if you posted an auction at all yesterday, I'm sorry to report that we were unable to recover that data. All auctions that were scheduled to end during our downtime have been rescheduled to end at 8PM, this evening.

If you submitted a bid between 2AM and 4PM on the 15th, please take a look at the auction to make sure that the High Bidder is correctly displayed. If you see anything unusual, please give us a holler and we'll make it right.

Thankyou for bearing with us as we get this all sorted out. Everything is currently almost back to normal. As always, if you're a user who had a problem that needs our attention because of this outage, we'll work to make it right. Don't hesitate to call.

(no avatar) The auction that I bid on yesterday (and won) has been relisted and my bids are not applied. However, the bid history for this auction shows all the bids til closing so obviously ALL bid data is not lost. Unfortunately this ruins the dynamic of the auction, does it not?

Petesguns Guys, it still is not working.....just tried to RELIST the items that were kicked off yesterday and it will not go through. The items that were kicked off show up as someone elses stuff with the same auction number. Know it is frustrating on your end, but here too, I lost bids on open items worth over 300 and lost bids on the closed items of over 400.....AAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! Oh well, we live by the computer and we'll die by the computer. Keep trying guys!

(no avatar) Still not working correctly. Some photos not showing up. Auctions that had bids now show 0 Bids yet when I check the History, it shows the bid.

Petesguns Manny.....I am sure that many others have not hesitated to call since your answering machines have filled mailboxes and are not taking any more messages. Can you at least update us through this forum as to what is being done as well as a projected solution time for your current problems? Your system usually runs smoother than a baby's butt, but when it coughs up a hairball, we all get in an uproar because it so seldom happens. All of my auctions lost the bids that were put on them. Any way to get them back, or are they gone for good? I also lost four auctions listed yesterday PM that had bids and they cannot be relisted. I can't seem to be able to list anything else with photos either. OUCH!!! This hurts your wallet as well as ours. Now what? Maybe there is a left wing anti gun liberal all wrapped up in that hairball??????

gov2mod Petesguns, check your auctions again. Even though one of my auctions seemed to have lost the bidders, they were still there. Go to your auction and click on the bidder list, even if it says "0 Bid" It will still show all of the bidders that previously bid. A short time ago my bidder returned anyway.

Hi, folks. Just an update to keep you informed of the site's current status. Manny and Mike tell me that we are about 90% recovered from the server outages of yesterday and should be up completely soon. After working all night on the problem, they took a bit of down time to clear the cob webs, but are back at it.

We are still having issues with our picture server. It was working at 5:00 AM this morning but has encountered some more problems. I understand that should be fixed today.

Bids placed yesterday should begin to appear properly in the auctions as the recovery process continues. This is the next action item in the queue.

several posts to the Forums were lost during the outage. We didn't delete them, just lost the data so

I've asked Support to clear out the phone messages so that new ones can be left if they are on the other line.

We are well aware of and sorry for the problems and inconvenience you are experiencing, so if you can, please hold down the level of calls to tell us the site is having problems. If you have a specific problem that is not related to the current temporary site/server problems and you are unable to reach support or leave a message there, I can be reached at 707-642-3006.

(no avatar) Thanks for your efforts. As of 4:30PM EDT, photo images are still absent from web auction pages when accessed by my computer.
