kats, just cycled through all the banners, each one opens a separate browser page that when your finished, can be closed and you'll be back where you were on AuctionArms when you clicked the banner. To be sure, the new browser page will open in front of the AuctionArms page you are on, but the AuctionArms page you were on will still be there when you close the advertisers browser page.
If you notice one acting different (i.e. jumps to the advertisers URL in the same browser window you were looking at AuctionArms in), then I do need to know. The quickest way to determine this is when you first reach the advertisers page, if there is a functional "back" arrow, then I need to know. If the back arrow is not functional, you'll know you are on a new browser page and merely need to close it (click on the little black "x" box in the upper right hand corner) to close the browser window and return to the AuctionArms place where you were when you started. |

| (no avatar) | I may have a different angle on this but it is my angle.I sell around 1,200 auctions per year on this site give or take.If AA raised their rates by .25 per auction this would cost me $300 in out of my pocket expense at year's end.I can not possibly lose that much in income with someone else's banner. I'm not saying that I love this change but for me its WAY better than a rate hike. Its not a democracy here but I would've voted for this over a rate hike. |

Grant, all it would take is to lose one or two sales because, one, someone got distracted and never came back to your auction, or, two, the ad bigwigs sold a banner to your competition and the potential buyer went THERE to buy his gun instead of yours. Yes, if you miss one buyer another one will come along, but, at least in my feeble mind, that is not the point, and also in my mind, it is all about principle, period. No, this is DEFINITELY NOT a democracy, and YES it IS Manny's site, but if you adopt a stance where you don't care if you upset your customers, (buyers AND sellers, since we are BOTH responsible for Manny's income), eventually you have the best little site in the world with GREAT advertising and zero web hits because there are NO sellers present. Time, as always will tell. We, as I am told, are NOT granted an exclusive to our listing page, but what WOULD Manny think if a seller were to say, within their AA auction description, to please visit my OTHER auctions at ANY number of other sites? I bet there would be a bit of a ruckus! Yes, it MAY be good for the Auction Arms family if SOME of the income from these ads went into building customer base and increased listings on the site. If that happens instead of it building Manny's bottom line, well, the site will get better. I hope that will be true, and will be right here watching to see it happen. Hopefully. This HAS been the best site there is, with FAR more integrity than ANY other auction site of ANY kind. However, the integrity present here only goes so far, and you can't take integrity to the bank. I can only hope that these new ads will build EVERYTHING related to our favorite site. Tom @ Petesguns |

WELL SAID GRANT & TOM NOW IS THERE A WAY NOT TO HAVE THE BANNER ON THE BUYERS INFO PAGE. I PRINT 2 COPIES OF THAT PAGE. ONE FOR MY RECORDS AND ANOTHER TO SHIP WITH MY FFL TO THE DEALER RECEIVING THE FIREARM SO HE KNOWS WHO IT'S FOR WITH THE CONTACT INFO. BUT WITH PRINTING THAT BANNER ON A PRINTER I AM WASTING INK LIKE CRAZY, TONER CARTRIDGES DON'T COME CHEAP AND THAT'S A BIG DARK AREA. IT ALSO SERVES NO PURPOSE ON THAT PAGE BECAUSE WE ARE SEEING IT ON EVERY OTHER PAGE. |

If the hilighting doesn't work, it could be confusing as to who is actually sending the gun, Willie. The recieving dealer may think it is from the advertiser, and get REALLY confused. |

| (no avatar) | If you send a receipt with the article showing who sold it and to whom it was sold with the legal description of the firearm, which includes the Serial #, there won't be any confusion. |
