Thread Title: "Best Offer Auctions Now Available!"
AuctionArmsCeo We've introduced a new Auction Type. It's called Best Offer. It's very simple, really. It's essentially a BuyItNow that lasts as long as two weeks, during which the buyer has the option of making an offer to the seller. That offer is good for as long as the buyer wished to make it, and the seller has the option of either accepting the offer, declining the offer, or declining all offers by lowing his/her BuyItNow price. It's a brand new feature, so let me know what you think.

OK, Let's keep this one on track, guys. Cut out the disparaging remarks.

Yep, AIC we had a little glitch in the search engine parameters that Mike caught and fixed last evening.

This idea has been discussed, kicked-around and recommended in several different variations over the years by users and AuctionArms staff, thanks to all of you for those suggestions. We finally were in a place with development scheduling and with Manny's hard work over the past few days to get this one to the top of the queue and rolled out for all our great AuctionArms sellers!

Please note the new entry in the Help and Information section about "Best Offer" which reads:

  • Best Offer Auction A Best Offer Auction is an auction where the seller lists an item with a BuyItNow price, and buyers have the option of either buying the item using BuyItNow, or then can make the seller an offer. If a buyer makes an offer, the seller can either accept the offer, decline the offer, or decline all offers and lower his BuyItNow price. The seller has a limited amount of time to accept the buyers offer, or the offer automatically expires. That length of time is determined by the buyer when he posts his offer.

The bidder/offeror currently sees the following notice, which is slightly incorrect as seller only has the time specified by the offeror in his Best Offer, not 48 hours. It will be corrected soon.

Congratulations!!
Your Offer is currently in the lead!

The seller has 48hrs to review your offer, after which the offer will automatically expire. If the seller chooses to accept your offer, the auction will be closed, and you'll be named the winner of the item. Or the seller may choose to decline your offer, or decline all offers and lower his/her BuyItNow price. You will be sent an email with the details. Please check back frequently if you wish to maintain your lead.

Have fun with this one!

gov2mod I'd still like to know if the bear in the test auction really died from biting the electric wire.

AA-bob gov2mod, probably a better place to discuss the bear and his demise in the Hunting Stories Forum, see thread title "Think you're having a bad day". Let's keep this thread on point to the Best Offer topic.

Wild West Guns, after the corrections made Thursday night, was not aware there were any issue with search. I don't see any now, Can you be more specific?

Cyro, will work like any other auction. If you close it it stays on the watch lists as the old closed auction, watchers would have to click on it to see a relist auction number I believe.

(no avatar) Why not add an Icon on the home page so you can just click on and see all the Best offers

AIC AA Bob there is still an issue with the search, if you run any other search first then decide to look at just the make and offer auctions you have to back all the way out and start a fresh and completly new search. It is acting kind of like the search did way back unce up on a time to run any new search you had to back all the way out to get it to fine diffrent auctions.

AA-bob Ok, AIC, I see what you're saying now. I'm sure its a glitch Mike will sort out soon. Thanks for the clarification.

AIC Bob, The search feture is broken and not working at all unless you back out each and every time you change the search.
