Thread Title: "New Communication Feature"
AuctionArmsCeo Buyers and sellers can now communicate with each other through the auction. Any messages sent between buyer and seller are now posted into the auction. We've found that sellers were having to repeatedly answer the same questions over and over, and by posting their reponse into the auction, they now answer everyone else's questions, too.

(no avatar) ASHES ; For now answer them the way Manny has it set up . Honest answers , like I know you will give, are not going to hurt you .

I had planned on listing some BENEFIT AUCTIONS AND some of my auctions this weekend , but , right now I am waiting to see what happens . I am like you , I don't know how to answer questions the way things are .

I am thinking SERIOUSLY , about going back to the way I know best . Just being a down to earth , don't amount to much , but honest , BACK WOODS GUN TRADER .

Been way too much controversy lately to suit me .

Beginning to think I ain't cut out for this new , puter world !!!!!

(no avatar) It appears that the 'ask seller a question' messages default to public. I sent myself one and that's the way it appeared. You (seller) have to manually change it to private. I thought AA was going to make it the 'other way round'??

AACEO Post #60 says:
- by default, it's private. If the seller wants everything private, now the seller can choose to keep everything that way. I hope that satisfies everyone's issues with privacy.

Pappa Jim Well seems AA has a lot of thinking to do. It comes down to 1 fact and that’s if AA don't get there head out of there a** on this issue they are going to lose allot of sellers and there by a lot of sales commissions.

AA consider this.

First you say this is designed to better protect your business interests by reducing off auction sales.

But if you keep this you will lose all these sellers. So you will lose allot more money than you would with off auction sales. I have no doubt that the ones saying they will leave will. These are honorable men that when they say they will do something they will do it. Don't gamble that they are full of sh** when the say they will leave because I really think you will lose.

Second you say this is designed to protect me.

I am an adult, I appreciate your concern, but I have been able to take care of myself for quite a few years now and I think I'd prefer to do it myself then to have to rely on you to protect me. Common guys don’t you think that I got enough problems with Hillary, Rosie O'Donnel, and Fat A** Kennedy telling me how much better my life will be when I let them do my thinking for me.

Let me state this clearly, since Bob asked us to.

I do more buying on AA than selling.

If AA dosn't have the sellers I like and want to buy from, then I won't need AA. You are in the business of putting buyers and sellers together. If you can't provide me this service then why would I want to spend my time or money with your site.

So it boils down to this. If you lose sportsmanssupply, willie ta, jackthedog, petesguns and the other good sellers then you lose me as a buyer.

Petesguns Well stated mirandavold. However, I fear that we are not being heard. Seems as though we have a developing situation where we ALL are going to be losers; AA in the wallet, and the members in good trading in guns on the former best site there was. Time will tell, but based on what we have gotten so far and what has been voiced, I am not as optimistic as I could be. I do not expect AA to be forthcoming for a while. Even though there are those of us who WERE going to post auctions this weekend, (wow, I get the weekend off), I don't expect any response now till next week. The AA world awaits...........

(no avatar) Well Pete i am gonna post a few, funny thing is, I have an email link right in my description and no one has really ever used it to date LOL.

Petesguns I also list my email address. When and if I decide to use AA again, I will list right in the body of the auction, a link direct to me to ask questions, and will probably state that I will not use the AA mechanism. 'Course, that will probably get me booted off, but right now, my judgement is too clouded to be thinking about the big picture. BUT, AA's judgement seems to be suffering from the same malady. Take care, Tom.

(no avatar) I've been away most of the day - just got back to find a message from a potential buyer about an item. I went to the item to post a reply - it's closed. I can't even let the potential buyer know the answer to his question. Really a great way of doing busines. Can't communicate with the customer.

(no avatar) I stand corrected - I had previously stated that bob has not responded to my emails or phone messages. He did notify us of a fradulant bidder on one of our auctions and when we were having ISP/Domain problems in the first part of July the end of June he did send us an email asking about us. But, he never has responded to our phone or emails asking specific questions about reduced rates. He thinks I forgot to leave a number to be reached at. bob feels this miss communications would be solved by their new email methodology. I feel I just lost a sale today as a result of the new methodology. I have no idea of who sent a quiry about an auction and I could not get back to him to respond to his quesitons - the auction closed. I did relist the item with a few changes hopefully answering the potential buys questions. But, it's just not the same as responding directly to the customer in response to his questions.

Petesguns kats, sorry about your lost sale. I am sure you are not the only one. That is why I don't have anything listed right now. I just don't want the hassle. I can only hope that our concerns aren't falling on deaf ears.
