| (no avatar) | What happened to the original topic of this thread? I use many sites looking for items I need (want), and sometimes end up paying more than what the item is worth simply because it's not available anywhere else. Price isn't always the main factor in what I'm willing to pay. The 10 minute rule is okay with me, although it can sure drag out an auction. I'm sure that, just like in a physical auction, there will be some bidders that don't really want to win, but try to play the "game" so that whoever wins pays more than they should. I've been sniped and have sniped (elsewhere). Some items I've sold have been sniped in the last few seconds, and I was the one that made out. It's just all part of being involved. It's still fun. |

And never more fun than when I'm in the lead in a charity auction. Pony up, ya pikers! |

As a seller I love the extra play! As a Buyer I think it unfair. As an Auctioneer crying for someone to please be fair, I'm finished! Put your best bid up front, if you don't Want it, Need it, It's not worth anything! The day of the $1.00 auction is over! Shipping can cost as much as what you are buying! We can cange the Rules but Smart will rule, Thanks Ron Costanza |

We're a pretty adaptable bunch, Ron. We buyers aren't crazy about it and the sellers are likely pretty happy with it. Whatever we feel about it, it is what it is and we'll deal with it. |

"We buyers".......? As a buyer, I think I actually prefer the 10 minRule. -- Used to like to snipe, but now I like to actually bid and GET what I bid on! After all, if you really examine it, sniping is just a myth! - Fooling yourself into thinking your last bid was at the very last second; just means the guy you think you sniped simply didn't have a high enough max.! If your bid IS in the very last second, and the other guy has a higher max.?, guess what? You didn't snipe anyone in either case! And you were not sniped either!
