Thread Title: "Server Outage....."
AuctionArmsCeo Our apologies. We've had some difficulty with a database server, but seem to have ironed things out. After pounding on a machine in our data center for the last twelve hours, I seem to have lost some coherence, so please bear with me. We were forced to restore from a backup taken in the early AM hours of the 15th, so if you posted an auction at all yesterday, I'm sorry to report that we were unable to recover that data. All auctions that were scheduled to end during our downtime have been rescheduled to end at 8PM, this evening.

If you submitted a bid between 2AM and 4PM on the 15th, please take a look at the auction to make sure that the High Bidder is correctly displayed. If you see anything unusual, please give us a holler and we'll make it right.

Thankyou for bearing with us as we get this all sorted out. Everything is currently almost back to normal. As always, if you're a user who had a problem that needs our attention because of this outage, we'll work to make it right. Don't hesitate to call.

(no avatar) A message to me from Willie Ta was that Manny is aware of the problem and is on it.One good thing is that I have 13 auctions ending this morning and they are ending normally.One bad thing is that there are buyers who only look at going,going,gone auctions and in my case they wouldn't be able to look at any of my guns to bid on them.I did receive some last hour bids probably from other folks who had obviously seen the photos prior.

One other inconvenience for me is that I don't post my auctions myself but have an internet techy that comes in during the morning. I've wasted a whole morning's wages.I'm not really bellyaching loudly here because I'm sure that AA wishes to always be operating at full strength but this month has had its ups and downs.

(no avatar) Hi Everyone. I see the picture server is once again down. Hey Manny and Bob, How about an adjustment on our fee's or bills????? Maybe if more folks ask this server will get fixed once and for all..

Petesguns It is very frustrating that these problems keep raising their ugly heads. Even though we KNOW that the AA staff is working their collective butts off to solve and prevent these things, it is VERY frustrating that auctions are being shown with no photos, listings are harder and going, going, gones have no photo. Now, I can't even do a listing. OUCH!!! This hurts the bottom line guys!! It is hard enough to gain a customer's confidence on an online sale site, with only photos to go by, but when the photos disappear, the little white cane just doesn't work. A blind man can't see what you are showing him and neither can buyers with no pics. PLEASE fix this problem once and for all, as like the gas prices, this affects ALL of us and our businesses. Thanks in advance for putting an end to this once and for all. Tom

Folks, believe me, we feel your frustration.

Manny and Mike are in the Server Center as I post working on resolving the issue with the reluctant pictures server which went down between 2 and 3 this AM (note: when the picture server is down, new auctions with pictures can not post as there is nowhere to place the pictures).

I know this is of little solice when you can't post, or have auctions closing without pictures showing. I just wanted you to know we are aware and are on it. I Do not have any good ETA on repairs at this point. I know this is not the exact news you wanted to hear, but felt any news is better than silence. Will keep this board posted on new thread entitled "9/1 Picture Server Outage" as information develops.

tomon Manny,Bob, and Mike... I have a four pound drill hammer that I can lend you to bring any errant equipment into line, or at least vent any frustrations you may have. As the famous old saying goes: "DON'T FORCE IT, USE A BIGGER HAMMER!" Thanks for your vigilance and prompt attention. Tomon
