Thread Title: "Server Outage....."
AuctionArmsCeo Our apologies. We've had some difficulty with a database server, but seem to have ironed things out. After pounding on a machine in our data center for the last twelve hours, I seem to have lost some coherence, so please bear with me. We were forced to restore from a backup taken in the early AM hours of the 15th, so if you posted an auction at all yesterday, I'm sorry to report that we were unable to recover that data. All auctions that were scheduled to end during our downtime have been rescheduled to end at 8PM, this evening.

If you submitted a bid between 2AM and 4PM on the 15th, please take a look at the auction to make sure that the High Bidder is correctly displayed. If you see anything unusual, please give us a holler and we'll make it right.

Thankyou for bearing with us as we get this all sorted out. Everything is currently almost back to normal. As always, if you're a user who had a problem that needs our attention because of this outage, we'll work to make it right. Don't hesitate to call.

(no avatar) I also have a problem with my last bid not showing on an auction. I'm assuming the bid history will be used to determine the winner. Also, I should have feedback from a transaction with Erl Schmiesing and I don't see it. It's my first feedback on Auction Arms.

AA-bob supergimp, your auction should be ok now. I did a manual update prior to the system restoring the bid history. (Sorry for the above deleted post, I forgot to log back into my account after correcting the auction in your account so the system thought it was you posting, not me...DOAHHH!)

bphurrough, you are correct the auction will close with the correct high bidder from Bid history during the closing/notification process at the end of bid even if the high bid/bidder didn't show correctly in the auction page.

On the feedback issue, if the positive was posted yesterday after early morning, the seller may need to re-post it. Give me a note after things quiet down a bit if it doesn't reappear.

(no avatar) I can't list any new auctions. Everything works fine until the final posting. Then the upload just times out. Any suggestions?? Otherwise I guess I'll just wait until everything is 100% fixed.

Petesguns AA-bob, all looks well except 2 of my auctions where the bids don't show except in the bid history, #6891858 & #6891949. Good job digging out from under.....thanks!

AIC When I go to My Bids it shows all the auctions that I have bid on plus some extras that I have never seen before, with very high max bids. I didn't bid on these and I don't them! AIC

AA-bob

Petesguns, 6891858 looked fine to me without any changes.

6891949 I manually updated to reflect the high bidder.

Manny tells me he'll be running a process to update all these auctions. If they close before that, the closing process will iensure the high bidder from Bid History is awarded the auction at the high bid, even nif it does not reflect on the face of the auction page.
