| (no avatar) | Yes, I have to agree that it is a sad day for Auction Arms when they have to HOPE FOR CHANGE by infringing on the system and making so many faithful members inconvienced in the format they have grown to love and be a part of. It is more than just a slap in the face to all the "family members" here that have made Auction Arms what it is today. If this was something that was happening (people sending payment to scammers) to the majority of the members, I could see the need for something quick to be done. However, I have not heard of one member that was actually taken. Anybody know of some loser that actually fell for the scam? Anybody? Manny? Bob? Marcus? Mike? Anybody I forgot? Really guys......Do you really feel this is an attribute to your members that made you who you are today?......I think not! PLEASE.....you tried it and you have our feedback on this system control and I must say it has no ability to generate income for AA like the banners apparently did so will you listen to us now? WE DON'T LIKE IT...AND WE ARE ASKING YOU TO RESTORE THE SYSTEM .....the one that has kept us loyal to you. The family here has spoken and would like to remain in the family and have some voice in making you the Best Internet Firearms Auction Site of all time. Please don't ignore us. P.S. We love you.....:) |

| (no avatar) | AA-bob: You mentioned that AA would like to have all buyers and sellers make positive contact after the auctions. I must say that I attempted, and I repeat attempted, to call a seller years ago after an auction closed to clarify some information and never did get to talk to him, personally. He was either never available or didn't answer the phone. I eventually sent payment hoping for the best. (This was prior to the "My Closed Bids, Contact Seller" feature being a part of AA.) If you check my feedback, you will see that I make it a practice to send payment very quickly and I want to have the payment instructions available as soon as possible. Due to that bad experience in trying to call the seller, I have never tried to do so on any auctions since. I have been an AA member for 7 years. Consequently, it would be better if AA worked on creating a more secure system that is scammer free yet gives the buyer the information they need in a reasonable amount of time after the auction closes. Hiding bidders nicknames doesn't accomplish all of that. Apparently, as mentioned in this thread, at least one member has found ways to defeat portions of the site. If this is true, I think it is only right that they explain what they know to you or Manny and give you the opportunity to fix it. |

Is anyone else experiencing difficulty with uploading pictures using the new sysytem? I have been trying to do so since early last night with no success at all. The old system seems to work, however, I wish to upload and post more than ten pictures in one auction. IS THIS SYSTEM BROKE? FR&G |

I have been trying to contact AA for two weeks. I have mailed bob@auctionarms.com. Support and a couple of post in threads and still am talking to myself. I wish to change my user name here to comply with your security concerns. Maybe your not as concerned as you wish to appear to be. trapper |

Now when we receive a question from a user concerning an auction even then the users name is hidden. I think this stinks, I can't even tell if it's someone I've dealt with in the past or not. Do they have 1000 feedback or 0? Any negatives? Who knows? Not that I would treat a newcomer any different than a previous buyer but I'd still like to know who I'm dealing with. I don't like this new "security" feature at all. |

| (no avatar) | I agree Gov, and I find myself slipping farther and farther away from Auction Arms. Sorry to say but with Rattler (Sorry Mr. Jim) not finishing his yarn and with all the new crap I can just as well not be here anymore because it's turning into just one of the other places. I remember what it used to be (like family) and what it has become now..(EBAY ARMS)..and I don't care for the dictatorial methods used anymore. I quit EBAY and the more Auction Arms becomes like them the more I am less interested in sharing a portion of my profits with them. I remember when they valued our input. Guess that has gone by the wayside too. I guess I am starting to see why Rattler has deceided to not waste his time anymore. It just ain't the family it use to be. Manny, Bob, Marcus, Mike...and anybody else I really appreciate the time you gave us in feeling that WE were part of the team.....and I understand that you have YOUR best interest at heart, but, "Where there is no vision....the people perish" JMHO |

| (no avatar) | I'll restate and summarize my previous comments. I understand the concern for protection against scammers, but there are certainly other methods to accomplish this same end. If AA displays warnings in other areas in order to protect their positions and those of the AA membership, then do the same in this situation. Add the tutorial for the newbies, add more seller information to the buyer after the confirmed sale, and add the need for the seller to confirm his payment information prior to the seller posting an item. Making phone call confirmations nearly a requirement to attain payment instructions is cumbersome, sometimes frustrating, and frequently a delay to the completion of the sale. I use and prefer email communication. It is a written log of what has transpired during the completion of the deal and will support any claims against either party. It eliminates any "selective memory" that a person may have that would bend the facts in favor of their argument or their position. |
