Thread Title: "WE WIN!!!"
AuctionArmsCeo Today the Supreme Court of these United States ruled that the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects and individual right to keep and bear arms. I'm so relieved that law has caught up with reality. I'm going to remember this day forever...

(no avatar) In my opinion the court left a lot open for the anti's to try and regulate guns through taxing and limitations as well as ammo. However they also left open our right to challenge the regulations as long as they infringe in some way. That kind of leaves us still in a limbo. Granted the ruling is a step in the right direction but may bring about some really far fetched regs., if only temporary, that could seriousy hurt our favored industry as a whole. Just a matter of testing of wills and time will tell all. By the way guys great job in the civility department!!!

Hagrid george, This is a classic example of how a discussion is supposed to be carried out.Disagreeing without being disagreeable.Making a point without personal attacks.Respect begets respect here and in the real time world. IMHO Trapper

(no avatar) Trapper....the following my friend is how we won and will continue to do so because of the Heller case......read below:

Evanston Votes To Amend Gun Ban-Tries To Avoid NRA Lawsuit:

Unlike the debacle in Washington, D.C., in the wake of the Supreme Court's Heller decision and in an effort to avoid NRA's lawsuit against their city aldermen in the Chicago suburb of Evanston unanimously voted to amend the city's 27-year-old handgun ban at a recent closed-door meeting.

Village Of Morton Grove To Repeal Gun Ban: Today the Village of Morton Grove also moved to avoid protracted legal action by amending its Village Code to remove the current handgun ban and incorporate sections of the Illinois Criminal Code, following the filing of NRA's lawsuit against the city.

Can you give me a reference to where you got that - I can't seem to find anything.

I sure would like to point this out to a few people.

Thanks

Hagrid Eldorado, You have read the headlines now read the rest of the story. How much of the ban did they remove. If they followed the SJCs decision, you can have it in your home only. If they follow DC, You can't own a semi-auto. You will probably have to buy a license at what fee?I would like you to tell me, if I buy a gun at a gun shop in DC that is 20 miles from my house and as the law reads now, I can't possess out side of my home, How do I get it home? You guys seem to be missing the forest for the trees. The only thing you got from the decision is the Statement that the 2nd means individual rather than collective rights and no trigger locks at home, Period. If the State says you can't own a 6" Smith, you can't own one.If they say you can own a handgun outside the home but it must have a 40lb trigger pull then thats it.They can micro stamp, register, force you to attend front sight at 2000.00 a pop. or any other nightmare scenerio you or they can dream up and it is all legal. Ask the Supreme court. Trapper

(no avatar) Trapper.......The National Rifle Association has signaled it also will challenge the new D.C. regulation, describing the law as extreme and in "complete defiance of the Supreme Court's decision."

Let's see who wins that round.

I know it's all a bunch of crap but the Supreame Court only had the authority to rule on what was in front of them in the Heller case. We will now begin the war with many battles to come, but the fact remains that we now have case law established to win these battles whereas before we didn't.

Hang on kids cause it's gonna be a long bumpy ride.
