| (no avatar) | It's really quite simple Trapper and Pete's....The athority to regulate on a National Scale has casterated the Liberals in Washington like has never been done prior to 1934. We now have the basis of the case law being interpreted by the highest court in the land. We have been given the gift to supply us with the horsepower to strip all the gun laws that violate the Constitution which if you read the decesion process taken to establish the findings will ultimately destroy the offense of the anti's forever. Now is the time to support all the organizations that will fight in court to tie together all the infringements, and one by one.....just like they got there in the first place we will win these battles thereby unifying ALL Americans with equal rights. Soon the battles in Mass., California, Illinois, ect...ect..will be brought before the People to deciede and leave the Liberals scratching their heads wondering what happened. Elitist is right on the money when he told you this will not happen overnight, but it will happen. We need to support the NRA as much as we possibly can and we need to support our local gun clubs also as they will be the one's leading us into this long battle. And one by one by one by one......we will win. And Happy 4th of July to all and remember we have something to really celebrate this year. |

Eldorado, I keep hearing how the SJCs decision castrated or nullified or in some manner damaged the lefts position on gun control. How did it castrate them? Was it the decision that the individual has the right to bear arms or the decision that the States and local govts have the power to regulate those arms out of existance? Maybe it was their decision that the DC ban was unconsitutional and the resident can keep a firearm in his house. That is as soon as you can tell me how he gets it from his dealer to his house as it is unlawful to carry outside of your home.Maybe it was the decision that trigger locks are no longer required Whoopee.I will say it one more time then no more. We got screwed. We got the decision that gun ownership is an indivual right not the collective. We got that banning a gun inside ones home is unconstitutional. We got that inside the home no trigger locks or disassembly is required. Period. All that is great. But the simple statement that the state and local govts can regulate firearms did more harm to the pro-gun movement than all the Brady bunches combined could do in a hundred years. It is the law of the land now that your mayor, chief of police, govenor, State legislators selectmen or whom ever is in control of the govts where you live can tell you what, where, when, who, shall have a firearm outside of their home. they also were given the right to license buy the SJC so that is the law of the land now. states like Vt that have no gun laws may now enact then without fear of their being overturned by the courts because it is THE LAW OF THE LAND. | (no avatar) | Trapper....Sure it would have been nice to have a fairy sprinkle fairy dust over all gun laws and make them disappear but that is about as likely to happen as would be for the anti's to put in a call to Merlin and have him make all the guns disappear. What we have accomplished is a foundation with which to build on. When we have the SCJ ruling in favor of upholding the 2nd as an individual right as opposed to a collective right, it will serve as the rock solid foundation to go after all the rest of the laws that also violate OUR RIGHT. Trust me when I tell you that I am as angry as you are about where we are, but at least we now have that foundation to support us as we go forward in our offensive attack on the anti's to abolish the infringements that we have endured far too long. Keep the faith and watch how it will work to our advantage as we beat them one at a time and slowly but surely we will eliminate them and put this matter to rest once and for all. FOR LIBERTY |

El, You miss my point. Where are we going to take them to defeat them one by one? The highest court in the land has ruled thatthey, who ever they may be, has the right to make as many laws as they wish as long as it is not a complete ban. open your eyes man and see the cabin burning. They ruled on the right of the individual to own a firearm IN HIS HOME period.Outside the home, the antis can do whatever they want because the highest court said that they could and who are you gonna appeal to? | (no avatar) | We will take them BACK to court, the Supreme Court if necessary. We won the individual right to keep. We now have to have the court address 'bear' and 'shall not be infringed' as they relate to the INDIVIDUAL right, not a collective right.
This decision is a stake in the ground. Here and no further. From here on out the Anti's are facing a defensive war, which will fail if we don't let up. |

| (no avatar) | That's exactly my point....Thank you Fyrd. At least I can sleep tonight knowing that somebody gets it. Trapper....If you don't get it....talk to the NRA ....call them and ask them what it means....They will tell you how important it is and it is a BIG WIN!!! Please educate yourself with the true understanding of what role this will play in getting more done from the offense. And please....quit the pesamistic attitude....gezzzzz....you act as though you are defeated before you have begun. |

Eldorado, It is you who do not get it.Try it this way. Forget that the SJC ruled on the individual right, Forget that they ruled that you cannot ban HANDGUNS IN THE HOME.Forget that they ruled that you do not have to have a trigger lock IN THE HOME. OK? Now remember what else they ruled on. That the State and local govts CAN PREVENT YOU FROM OWNING A FIREAM BY CREATING ORDINANCES,LAWS AND LICENSEING POLICIES THAT MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO OBTAIN A GUN. They ruled that the regulation of firearms lies within the privy of the local and state govts.SO what they gave with this great ruling, they took away with the next sentance. You guys keep saying we will take them to court one law at a time. What court? The highest court in the land already ruled that they can do what they wish as long as it is not ARBITRARY or CAPRECIOUS. So who do you think you are going to appeal to? The SJC??? Yeah, and at one time they could pass laws that prevented you from voting if you were the wrong color. They can't do that anymore. Know why? Because Brown vs Board of Education and the lawsuits it spawned in the following decades abolished the old laws one by one, and today there are no more poll taxes, literacy tests, requirements for land ownership, etc., required to vote, anywhere, in any state. Get this through your head: Heller was a major win. It was THE win that was needed. Without that win, NOTHING could be done: with it, in time, EVERYTHING can be done. It seems to me you're being willfully obtuse: you can't have it all at one go, so you don't want any of it. Just watch and see what happens in the next 10 years. Then come bnack here and whine about how "we didn't win anything" a bit. |
