Thread Title: "New Communication Feature"
AuctionArmsCeo Buyers and sellers can now communicate with each other through the auction. Any messages sent between buyer and seller are now posted into the auction. We've found that sellers were having to repeatedly answer the same questions over and over, and by posting their reponse into the auction, they now answer everyone else's questions, too.

AA-bob AIC, glad to see you're back posting and thanks again for your help. Tell Ashes38 hello for me and thank her for her help in getting you back over here to post a thing or two. I tell you, I'd certainly rather read a new little bit of Cowboy Poetry or A Chucky story about right now than watching this new little bru-ha-ha.

I'm not sure what recounting all your appreciated help to AuctionArms in the past has to do with resistance to instituting these new changes, though.

Give us some productive comments on what causes you heartburn with the new communication system. Specifics, man, specifics! We can address, analyze and work on those.

A simple "I don't like it", while informative, doesn't do to much to help us address the problem and make it better. Disparaging remarks, or as a wise man I know from Nevada calls them "belittling remarks" are really not helpful at all.

AIC AA Bob you know I can't help telling storys. Heck you even told Ashes38 you missed them, and there might even be a bit of retaliation for Manny removing my post though not much. But if there is its just short term irrition. I really do like you guys and most of the time you do great work but ever now and again a doosie comes down the line form you fellows in AA and I just point it out in my absurd way and that old story was mostly to remind Manny that he is only human and can make mistakes, and just maybe this is one of them!

WILLIE TA

BOB

BOY ARE MY PHONES RINGING OFF THE HOOK OVER THIS THING AND E MAILS COMING IN EVERY 5 MINUTES. THE QUESTION I AM GETTING FROM A QUITE A FEW SELLERS AND SOME BUYERS IS. "WHY IS AA GOING INTO A SELF DESTRUCT MODE?"

jackthedog This has probably been covered already...but at the risk of repeating someone I'll voice one specific complaint and then some generalities. Compaint: I can no longer send a photo directly to someone who's requested a special picture. Instead, I have to add it to the auction. Not that I'm trying to hide anything, but I would prefer to decide what photos I will include on my auction. Not to mention the extra work involved in posting a photo to an auction versus a quick email. Trust me when I say that I'm overworked already and don't need additional complications. In general, the system feels cumbersome and I don't care for it at all. I suspect that this change will not be healthy for the site since I see that a lot of folks are quite upset about it. Many people seem to sense a lack of trust which is probably the thing that galls us the most. While it would certainly be great to eliminate the email communications problems, to do so to the extreme dislike of those who were satisfied with the site before seems heavy handed. If the site becomes too difficult to use and there becomes a feeling of distrust between the site and the users, people will naturally gravitate toward an easier option. I have no intention of jumping shipping, I like it here and have built my business around this website. I simply want AuctionArms to remain a healthy, strong business so that I can continue doing what I do. If this new change weakens the site, it's bad for all of us.

Petesguns AA-Bob, you want specifics.....read Jackthedog's post. Gets right to the point. We don't like being not trusted, we like the quick way we had to do things in the past. PERIOD. Seems like maybe the score per this forum so far is about everyone to, against. Maybe you can pull some sort of a feeling about what to do from that! The whole feeling is VERY heavy handed, and seems to have been shoved down our throats without any warning or input from any of the members. To me, that is not the way to run this place, but I am only a small seller. Maybe seems to me also that the opinions of the masses don't count anymore.

(no avatar) AA Bob and Manny:I am not the one who has to deal with the specifics so I'll only say that I deal with the people side of my company not the computer side.My suggestion is to check with guys like Mark and Herb prior to making more changes.I'm not one of the guys who built this site but am doing well here.No doubt I could do well on the other site as well.I like it here and like the staff and just the feel. Please smooooze this over and lets get back to a good feel again.Thanks.Grant

(no avatar) I now no longer have the correspondence between my bidders and myself to rely on in case of a problem. Again, please return the email system to the way it was. The few bucks you're losing from off auction sales is nothing compared to the thousands of dollars you get from on auction sales and keeping your sellers happy. It is, after all, the sellers who give you your revenue. Pissing us off, will most likely, unfortunately, cause us to find other outlets for our goods.

(no avatar) I have enjoyed this auction for years, met and talked with AA people at the gun shows, it seemed that we were all in it together and had the same goals. I have, as most others directed email offers on items that did not sell, to do the "buy it now" plan. The new plan seems like a different set of people are running the show. Maybe "one bad apple does spoil the whole bunch" Litetrigger

Petesguns Yet more feedback about this wonderful new system. Are we getting the message yet?

Yes I am being a pain in the butt, but I have NEVER hidden my feelings.
