Thread Title: "What do you think?"
AuctionArmsCeo What do you think of the Auction Arms forums? We thought about this question for a long time before coming to the conclusion that we needed to write our own forum in-house. The problem is that integrating someone else's discussion software was just as complicated as writing it from scratch - and we had a few requirements that absolutely had to be met before we would have something like a forum at Auction Arms.

Now I have to go back to our debating site on Yahoo to beat up on liberals.

WELL, WELL.....That's a deep subject for shallow minds. I see that Auction Arms or Gun Auction, whichever is now the correct title, has made some progressive changes in the right direction since my last visit. This is especially true if what Manny has stated in his opening statements of this thread withstands the test of time. I am specifically referring to the portion where Staff will now listen, and pay credence too, what the members have to say, and suggestions that they may make. Being responsive to the members when they contact them will also be a huge portion of this as well.

While I have not explored the entire site yet, only the forums thus far, I seem to like what I have seen, particularly the addition of a avatar. As with most things, new changes will be welcomed by some and rejected, and found fault with, by others. For those who wish to participate in the latter, I would only suggest that they hold on tight and enjoy the ride. While it may be bumpy at first, as time goes on things will smooth out.

I do hope that those who use improper language, innuendos, and idle threats against others, will have their chops busted and given the appropriate time out. AAbob, this is where you need to man up and hold a firm position on, and enforce with a heavy, but fair, hand. In my opinion, to allow these things to happen, unchallenged and unpunished, is a negative reflection on you, your authority as the "Cat Herder", and the site in general. Fun is fun, and we all tend to chide and poke fun at one another, and that is the way it should be. However, malicious name calling, mean spirited and demeaning remarks, threats of any type directed at one another should not be allowed period.

My hope is that with these recent changes this site will continue to grow and prosper. If managed properly, these forums will begin to revert back to what they were a few years back, a place to learn, exchange thoughts and ideas, and make close friends.

Greetings to all,

Bubba J

brainaxe - Please don't take this wrong, but based on my observations recently regarding the content in a few of your posts in several other threads, it seems to me that you & 5th have become a mouth piece of sorts for AA/GA and are very supportive of the actions and attitudes of the staff. It's like you and he have defected to the other side.

I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion(s), however, your position on several issues lately seem to run counter to your view of very similar issues in the past. You aren't on the take too are you? Surprised

Or has Brain recognized the sign of the times concerning how corporations make their money. Maybe it has always been that way and the little guy's voice was always silenced.

I think the green site still silences the little guy.
