(no avatar) What browser are y'all using? You can find this out by clicking on your browser's Menu (example: Help --> About Internet Explorer). aa-mike ('the programmer')

(no avatar) Internet Explorer. It's not just an Auction Arms thing, it does it on other web sites too, driving me nuts. Any suggestions?

AA-bob

Hi, Miss.t, I'll take a small shot at this (basically parroting what AA-Mike has told me about similar problems like the one you have). Are you at IE version 6.0? If not, suggest you upgrade to 6.0.

Are you running internet accelerator software? If so, turn it off and see if that doesn't help. Internet Accelerator software works well with static web pages but doesn't do so well with dynamic web pages like we use at AuctionArms.com and as may be used at other web sites you may be visiting.

Lastly, check Tools, Internet Options, Security Tab, your security slider should be at "Medium" or below, "Privacy" Tab, your privact slider should be set at "Medium" level or below.

I'll defer to AA-Mike now on any more technical solutions and question

(no avatar) EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GO TO WINDOWS UPDATE AND INSTALL ALL THE UPDATES. THESE UPDATES HELP KEEP YOUR COMPUTER RUNING BETTER. IT TAKES SOME TIME TO DO IT. IF YOU HAVE DSL IT IS ALOT FASTER THAN DIAL UP.

(no avatar) No go. I am running 6.0. I lowered both the privacy and security to low. I even shut down the firewall to see if it would help. I don't knwo if i have accelerator software and not sure how to tell. Nothing helped. I know guns, not computers! Soemtimes I hate these things!

AA-bob One last tip, what date is your computer set on (usually found in lower right corner if you click on the time). We've had reports this problem somtimes occurs when the date is off.

Former Seller: miss.t(684-0-1) Post#11 - Posted: 11/06/2004 at 14:05:46
(no avatar) This is driving me nuts. Checked the date, it's fine. Here's what's strange. When I go to to the first page of let's say the curio & relic listings, I can click and go back to the listings on any item. But when I go to the second or later pages any item I click and then try to go back to the listings gives me a "The page cannot be displayed" message. When I then go to the Rfiles listings I can click on any item on the first page and go back to the listings but on the 2nd and later pages I can not go back and reload the listings. Also, say I go the the first page of a listing in any catagory, I can click on the pages to go to let's say the 4th page with no problem as long as I do not click on an item. If I hit "back" I will get the same error message for the 3rd and 2nd page until i get to the first page again which will load up. Like said, It's drin\ving me crazy. i guess I'll ahve to call my $175 an hour computer guy over here. Dang it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(no avatar) $175 an hour, that is one very high priced computer genius. I'll give you a call this afternoon, see if we can't get this figured out...
