Thread Title: "Server outages"
AA-bob You may have noticed that we experienced some intermittent server outages/unavailability notices to users from yesterday morning (4-28) until 9 AM Pacific Time this morning (4-29).

Everything should be back up and running fine now.

The techs took the system down to fix the problem from about 11:30 PM Pacific Time last night until 9:00 AM this morning.

As a consequence, all auctions scheduled to end between 11:30 PM last night and 9:00 AM this morning were extended by 24 hours.

Because of the server problems, some end-of-auction winner announcements, customer questions and AuctionArms system generated invoices queued up and were delayed and not sent out during the outage. After the system was re-enabled all delayed/backed-up messages, invoices and announcements should now have all be sent out.

Please let me know if you are still experiencing any problem with any of AuctionArms Pages or Applications.

(no avatar) Confirmed and resolved several issues responsible for trouble logging in and posting auctions. Believe and hope we're out of the woods... Herb, Mark, please don't hesitate to call if you see something start to go sideways before we do.

Petesguns Might be time to feed the squirrels and chipmunks on the treadmills that power the servers??? Seriously, why are there such a seemingly high occurence of problems using this system? Is there a marginal piece of equipment that needs replacedment or is there a security problem that lets bugs, viruses and hackers to run amok? Just serious questions needing answers.

(no avatar) The piece of equipment giving us trouble was not marginal. It crashed in a blaze of glory and was very painfully replaced. Still, with any very complicated, very invasive surgery, there are bound to be complications... we're working on keeping the bleeders contained and watching the system very closely. Doin' our best fellas.

(no avatar) Tom,

FYI the green site was down for four hours. I had a penny auction end at the tail end of it.No one could bid on it for its last 3 hours. Think I lost any bids? lol. Just stating that AA doesn't have the exclusive on outages.
