Thread Title: "8-13-06 Server outage."
AA-bob Our servers have been experiencing intermittent outages since 3AM PDST this morning, Sunday 8-13-06 due to a failure of a Microsoft automatic software update to install correctly.

We believe we've resolved this problem.

As a result, and to be fair to all our customers who could not access auctions during this period to place their bids, all auctions that closed/or are scheduled to close since 3 AM this morning through 4PM PSDT, Sunday 8-13-06, will be reopened and/or extended to close at 4 PM PDST tomorrow, Monday 8-14-06.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have created. Thanks for using AuctionArms.

If you notice any problems with our service, please drop me a note, bob@auctionarms.com.

AIC Nynn444 I don't believe this outage was on purpose by AA or the AA staff, but sometimes bad luck comes in bunches. So while we hold our breath, and keep our heads down, we don't need any more bad luck for a good long time, but it's best to be prepared.

AA Bob and Manny might be a bit hammer headed sometimes but who isn't? My word you would have to be a Hammerhead to be a Cat Herder!

AuctionArmsCeo Sorry for the delay. I had a heckuva time reopening auctions, but if you have an auction that closed during our downtime, it's now back up. Except for BuyItNows' - naturally. Let me know if you see anything else weird. Sorry for the confusion.

Petesguns Be prepared all, it has been my experience that bad things happen in threes. As a paramedic, we almost ALWAYS have three cardiac arrests, or three bad car wrecks, all in a short period of time. When I was a fire chief, we had structure fires in bunches. WHAT WILL BE NEXT???????

(no avatar) Glad I read this. I thought I lost an auction. Maybe a second chance.

(no avatar) Hi Bob. As one who came into the shop this Sunday morning to list a bunch of things, couldn't access the site, sat around for several hours waiting and finally went home, I have a suggestion. I know there is an "announcements" link but if the site is down (like today) it doesn't work so we have no idea what is going on. Couldn't you have a seperate URL or web page strictly for "emergencies" like this where you could simply let us know asap what is going on? I wasted a couple of hours today waiting for the site to get back up...when I could have been mowing the lawn (joke). After all, we're not just casual Ebayers..we earn our living on this site. Thanks, Clive (Sarge)

(no avatar) AIC; I wasn't pointing fingers toward AA doing this on purpose.

AA-bob BPCR, take a look at you auctions, looks like they are running fine on the extension.

(no avatar) I have been billed for the auctions that closed during the outage, when will I see a credit for those auctions?
