Face book is also good when you have family and friends who live out of town and now they have the ability to post family photo on the wall or in albums. One of the most amazing things on the net is Skype,free to down load,and you can make video calls domestic or around the world to friends and relatives FREE of charge.My wife makes video calls to her daughter and grandaughter in Ukraine for hours on end and it does not cost anything.If your computer doesn't have a video cam and a mike,you can buy a cam and mike in a single unit that plugs in a USB port for $20 that works great.. |

Hartwell, thats correct. Instead of emailing relatives you can have ongoing family OR friends interactions and you can limit those you do not want to be involved. Just another communication tool we older folks sometimes do not embrace as much as the younger crowd. Doctor friend of mine has a son going to school in Scotland and they use Skype all the time. Skype was owned by ebay and probably still is I do not remember but it is free. |

Has anyone heard of "GETFUGU"?
It is supposed to be the next big deal for any kind of product recognition through any device; phone, ipad-pod, Android, Bluetooth etc, worldwide.
Works on a "See It, Say It, Get It" system. You just point your phone/cam at anything and it will tell you all there is to know about it.
Ties in with GPS somehow, as well. And advertisers are starting to see big potential for this new type of application. -??- |

Brain, One of the engineers at work has a App. for ihs iphone that reads bar codes, It's pretty amazing, He started off with a pack of smokes and then was reading bar codes on some of our hardware and what not and got them all right. Some of the stuff at work is really specialized and would never think all that info would be in some database some where. When the iphone comes with a ballistic calculator and a range-finder I'll get one! |
