WW06: Lever Action with Full Length Tubular Magazine; WW07 Single Action Revolver with Side Loading Gate Cylinder.
WW06: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 94 44-40 WIN. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”. The top of the barrel is marked with a circled “WP” proof. The underside of the receiver on the left side is marked 236 WC”. The left side of the barrel is marked with a large “WINCHESTER” between two sections of bold foliate scrolls, all in gold. The right side of the barrel features the Colt Manufacturing plant with its dome, also set between two sections of bolt foliate scrolls, and all in gold. The left side of the receiver is engraved and gold filled with a Winchester horse and rider at the front, an ovalled “WC” in the center and the remainder with bold foliate scrolls. The right side of the receiver is engraved with a bust of Oliver F. Winchester wearing a top hat and with bolt foliate scrolling, all filled with gold. The upper tang is engraved and gold filled with the signature “O. F. Winchester”. The lower tang is marked “Mfd. by U.S. Repeating Arms Co. / Winchester TM’s licensed from / Olin Corporation”.
WW07: The top of the barrel is marked “+COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.+”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. Sept. 19, 1971. / “ JULY. 2,-72. / “ JAN. 19,-75.” The left side of the trigger guard is marked with the Triangle “VP” proof at the front and a “K” at the rear. The front right side of the trigger guard is marked “H”. The underside of the frame is marked “236WC” and the underside of the barrel is marked “44”. The front surface of the cylinder is marked “33026” and the rear surface is marked “44-40”. The left side of the barrel is marked with a large “COLT” in an oval between two sections of bold foliate scrolls, all in gold. The right side of the barrel features the Colt Manufacturing plant with its dome, also set between two sections of bold foliate scrolls, and all in gold. The backstrap is adorned with a “Col Saml Col” signature, filled with colt. The cylinder sports bold foliate scrolls with an ovalled Rampant Colt logo on one side and an ovalled “WC” on the other, honoring the Winchester/Colt commemoration, all gold filled.

Sights / Optics:
WW06: This rifle is mounted with a full buckhorn rear elevator sight mounted in a dovetail on the barrel. The sight has a reversible insert with a white diamond in the center, a “V” notch on one end and a “U” notch on the other. The front sight is a tall brass blade pinned in a slotted base atop the barrel.
WW07: The front sight on this revolver is a quarter-round blade fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square groove at the rear of the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition:
WW06: The stocks are two-piece fancy checkered walnut with a satin finish. There are fiddleback patterns running through the buttstock and smooth Fleur-de-Lis patterns in the checkering. There is a blued steel crescent shaped buttplate at the butt and a blued barrel band on the forend. There is a shallow ding and a light drag line on the left side of the stock and a shallow bruise near the toe on the right side. The grip checkering is sharp and the forend checkering shows very light wear. The LOP measures 13 7/16” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate, which shows a small ding on its right edge. The buttplate is in about Excellent condition. The stocks rate in about Excellent condition.
WW07: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with an oiled finish. There are no handling marks in the stock. The stocks rate in about Mint condition.
Type of Finish:
WW06: The rifle is blued with a case colored lever and gold-filled engraving. WW07: The revolver is blued with a case colored frame and gold-filled engraving.
WW06: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no indication in the bore or bolt that this rifle has ever been fired after having left the factory.
WW07: The bore is gray with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. There is no indication in the bore or in the cylinder that this revolver has ever been fired outside the factory.
WW06: This rifle retains about 99+% of its metal finish. We did not find any handling marks in the finish. The screws heads are sharp, and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Near Mint condition.
WW07: This revolver retains about 99+% of its metal finish. There are no handling marks in the finish that we could find and the cylinder does not have a drag line. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. This revolver rates in about Near Mint condition.
WW06: The action functions correctly and smoothly. The rifle has a rebounding hammer and a lever safety. The trigger pull is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
WW07: The cylinder lockup is SOLID. The frame is a blackpowder frame with locking screw for the cylinder pin. The action works correctly. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories:
This set comes with factory boxes for the Colt and Winchester, paperwork from Winchester and an oak presentation case that holds both guns. The Colt box has a brown cardboard simulated wood outer box with "COLT" in gold lettering on the top. One end panel has the serial number of the revolver written by hand. The outer box shows light handling marks and light fraying on its corners. The inner box is light brown Styrofoam with "COLT" imprinted on its top surface and the inside fitted for this revolver. The inner box shows minimal wear. The revolver box is in about Fine condition. The rifle box has a colored cardboard sleeve and the box itself is white Styrofoam. The sleeve is red and white with white lettering. The box has a separate lid with the bottom section fitted for this rifle. One end panel of the box has a label with the correct make, model, caliber and serial number of this rifle. The sleeve shows only a few smudges and very light fraying on a few of the corners. The Styrofoam box is intact with no stains or wear marks on the inside. The rifle box is in about Excellent condition. The paperwork consists of a Winchester Firearms Purchase Record Card, a list of Authorized Winchester Repair Centers, a Warranty and a colored instruction manual for the “Winchester Colt Commemorative Set Winchester Model 94 Lever Action Centerfire Carbine”. The case is a beautiful oak case with a brass plaque on the lid marked “WINCHESTER / COLT / COMMEMORATIVE SET / O.F. Winchester signature, Col. Samuel Colt signature / U.S. Repeating Arms Company / Winchester trademarks licensed from Olin Corporation”. The plaque has a lacquered coating that shows light scratches and scuff marks. The case has a heavy lid with a full-length piano hinge and there are two brass locks on the front face of the case, with a brass key in an envelope on the inside of the case. The bottom of the case is covered with brown felt. There are several long parallel compression marks on the top surface of the lid on the right side. The inside of the case is lined with red velvet. The bottom is fitted for the revolver and rifle, with a separate lidded area for accessories and two round lidded compartments for storing commemorative medallions, which unfortunately are missing. The fabric pull-string on one of the round lids has broken off. The velvet exhibits light compression marks from contact with the underside of the firearms but no other marks. The case is in about Fine Plus condition – please see our pictures, because this is really a nice case.
This is a Winchester/Colt Commemorative Set consisting of a Winchester Model 94 Carbine with a 20” barrel and a Colt SAA Revolver with a 7 ½” barrel. The Colt is built on a blackpowder frame. Both guns are chambered in .44-40 Win. Please see our prior comments on the engraving and gold plating present on these guns as well as our pictures, because these guns are really beautiful. The guns come with their original factory boxes, factory paperwork for the rifle and an oak display case for the two guns. Both guns are in Near Mint condition with about 99+% of their metal finish remaining. The bore in the rifle is bright with sharp rifling and the bore in the revolver is gray with sharp rifling. Neither bore shows signs of erosion, and neither gun shows signs of having been fired since it left the factory. This set encompasses the spirit of the West and those who were brave enough to battle the wilds to make a better life for themselves. At the same time, it honors the relationship between the two classic American companies who provided the firearms necessary to tame the West. This set is an excellent choice for both the beginner and advanced collector.

To reduce the likelihood of damage during shipping, we may disassemble long guns by removing stocks when it is possible & easy and will not damage the wood or screws. We will also break down takedowns. We have had problems with rough carrier handling breaking the stocks at the wrist, and since we have begun to disassemble, we have not had any breakage. All parts will be individually wrapped. If you would prefer to not have your item disassembled, please let us know as soon as you win the bid.
Your item will be shipped within 1 week of receipt of good funds, usually the next day. If you are in Southern California, you are welcome to pick your item up and complete the transfer at our shop in Simi Valley (M-F, 8-4 and Saturday By Appointment).
This gun can only be shipped to an FFL or C&R, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. Please include a copy of your C&R or your dealer’s license with payment. These can also be faxed or emailed. We will need CFLC numbers for CA FFL’s to ship. We are FFL dealers and comply with all Federal, State and Local laws.
We always combine on shipping to save you as much as we can. You can generally assume it will be full shipping charge on the first item, 1/2 on the second, 1/3 on the third, etc. Exceptions only arise when the items are going to different locations (different licenses), or when they are exceptionally large, heavy or valuable and cannot be combined.
