Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Custom Made Bowie Knife Beautiful

Custom Made Bowie Knife – Beautiful !!

This auction is for a "one of a kind" custom Bowie Knife made by one of America’s little known knife makers. This knife is from my personal collection and was made specifically for me by knife maker S. Crawford, Windy Ridge Knives in Comfort, Texas. Mr. Crawford photo copied my outstretched hand and designed the hilt and handle specifically for me several years ago. The late Dan Dennehy, the man G. Gordon Liddy called the best knife maker in America, appraised this knife at between $2,000 and $2,500 several years ago.

This Bowie is nested in a custom hard leather sheath which was specifically made for it. Note the way the hilt fits into the top of the sheath just behind the safety strap.

According to Crawford, the knife was built around a “Full Tang/Full Hilt” design where the hilt is so closely machined into the tang as to be nearly invisible. If you look closely at the top of handle just behind the hilt you can see the line where they mate together.

The overall length is 15.88 inches, the length of the blade is 10.44 inches, the width of the blade at the hilt is 1.75 inches. The top of the blade is sharpened from the tip for 4.75 inches back to allow for cutting through a rib cage on a fallen animal such as an Elk or Moose. The thickness of the blade at the hilt is 0.25 inches. The thickness of the grip or handle is 1 inch. The width of the grip is 1.5 inches at its widest point. Overall length of the sheath from to tip to the top of the belt loop is 19 inches. The knife alone weighs 1.4 lbs, with the scabbard the total weight is 2.2 lbs.

This knife prior to photography and building this auction has been out of its sheath less than a dozen times over the past 15+ years. It has never tasted blood and never been carried in the field. It is literally a new knife… A beautiful new knife… If you have been looking for the ultimate Bowie, this is more than worth looking at – it’s probably the one you are looking for. Jon

PLEASE READ THE PAYMENT & SHIPPING INFORMATION POSTED AT THE END OF THE AUCTION. IT MAY SAVE TIME FOR BOTH OF US

BEFORE YOU ASK WHAT THE RESERVE IS, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING…

RESERVE AUCTION

We do not disclose the Reserve on our “RESERVE AUCTIONS” because doing so defeats the purpose of the auction. Disclosing makes it a “Sale”, not an auction, much like a classified listing. Most of the firearms we offer at auction are on consignment with us from one of our clients. Our commitment to our clients is to obtain the highest fair market price possible for their firearms. Thus, we prefer the Reserve Auction and the “HAGGLE” feature offered by Auction Arms. About 50% of our sales are completed via the Haggle. In a Reserve auction if the high bidder does not reach the reserve by the end the auction the high bidder or the seller may institute what Auction Arms calls a Haggle a one-on-one exchange between buyer and seller to try and come to a mutual agreement on a price. If you are not familiar with the Haggle process, click on Auction Arms “Help & Info” for complete details. For those items that are not on consignment we usually offer a convenient “Buy-It-Now” price.

We are GOLDEN BEAR SERVICES, INC., a Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer in the Denver Metro area. We market exclusively on Auction Arms (since 02-23-1999) and our feedback exceeds 1700 positives. We list on our auctions a variety of offerings including firearms, ammunition, reloading tools & supplies and other accessories we pick up from clients who are interested in liquidating their firearms collections. We are also stocking dealers in a variety of “Mil Spec” manufacturers of quality AR15 & AR10 firearms and accessories including Uppers, Lowers, Parts Kits, barrels, stocks, mags, complete firearms and anything else we think you might be interested in.
