The box and its sleeve are in about Fair condition.
Our Assessment: Buffalo Bill Cody carried a New Model Army throughout the Indian Wars and his show appearances, and never converted it to cartridge use, which is a testament to the popularity of this revolver. The original Remington New Model Army revolver is commonly called the Model 1858 because of its patent date on the barrel, but it was not actually produced until 1863, the 1861 Old Model having preceded it. This revolver is a reproduction of the New Model Army made by Armi San Marcos of Italy in blue and brass, and is chambered in .44 Cap and Ball. It features an 8” barrel, an unfluted cylinder, brass frame and trigger guard and light colored walnut grips. The revolver is in about Fine Plus condition with 96% of its finish remaining. The bore is bright with sharp pronounced rifling and no erosion. This is a very nice revolver for anyone who likes to shoot blackpowder, especially those in the blackpowder category of Cowboy Action Shooting. The New Action Army comes apart in seconds for cleaning, which aids in keeping it clean and free of erosion. The New Action Army has one of the strongest blackpowder frames made and with care, this revolver will give someone decades of shooting enjoyment.
