Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is no play in the barrel to frame fit, the cylinder produces about 1/16" side to side and back play in full lockup of all 5 chambers. The mainspring is just south of strong. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.
Our Assessment: Manhattan Firearms Co. produced many interesting pocket sized pistols with nice fit and finish for being a company outside of the Colt / Remington / Springfield realm. This .36 Navy pistol was made sometime after 1864, it would have been a nice handy and concealable tool in which one could scare off bandits or crack almonds. It loosely mimics Colt's Navy model, except the cylinder on this one had oval bordered hunting scenes. The revolver looks to have had a long life of good use, though the action is still doing good and all serialized parts match. This item should do great in your early revolver collection. Please see our pictures and good luck.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This antique handgun can be sold in California.
