Seller's Description

Historic NJ Monmouth Brigade Mkd. 1816 Musket

Offered herein is a very fine

authentic and original Model 1816 flintlock

musket with superb NJ state markings as well as

"Monmouth Brigade" markings on its stock.

This specimen is in fine condition and is is a W.T. Wickham-Phila. marked 1816 musket with the early lockplate markings (curved name over Phila).

The musket has the sharpest markings

as we have encountered in a long while on this early type

musket. The wood is very crisp and it has the

"Monmouth Brigade" markings in two places on

the stock and other markings/cartouches are sharp

as well. The metal is fine with just a light scattered sprinkling of pinprick pitting on lockplate and in breech area. The wood is sharp with some bumps and bruises but NO cracks or spplits or wood missing. For the collector of DESIRABLE early marked 1816 muskets and especially for the New Jersey collector this is a fine specimen. OFFERED ONLINE AND AVAILABLE IN OUR RETAIL GALLERY IN SOUTHPORT, CT.
