Caliber: .32 Winchester Special. The original caliber of this rifle was .310, since it has been re-barreled it is no longer in its original condition and now requires an FFL to ship and a DROS to transfer. C&R firearms are only C&R’s when they remain in their original configuration.

Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “Made by The Birmingham Small Arms Co. Ltd. / Trade Marks / B.S.A.”. The top of the receiver is marked “32 Win. Spl. ”, and shows a kangaroo. The right side of the receiver is marked “Commonwealth of Australia”, “60765”, “N.S.W.” (New South Wales), “27.723”. The right side of the barrel is marked “60765”, and a proof mark and “310 12-20”. The buttstock is marked on the right side “C.M.F. / N.S.W. / 27.723 / 6 12”. The top of the barrel is marked “Made by The Birmingham Small Arms Co. Ltd.” . There are Patent dates on the sight.

Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a fixed post front sight and a military style windage and elevation adjustable rear sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are wood, showing much age and original finish. There are numerous dings, marks and gouges, as well as some discoloration from handling. Dings are found throughout, please see the pictures. The LOP measures approx. 13 ½” from the front of the trigger to the back of the butt plate. There is one hairline crack on the right side of the stock, forward of the buttplate. The stocks rate in about Good overall condition.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is no apparent erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 75% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light aging throughout, with a light patina and very scattered surface frosting. There is scattered pinprick surface erosion on the receiver, mostly at the back. The Screw heads are serviceable, showing light use and minor disfiguration. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle.

Our Assessment: This is a very cool, very strong multi purpose rifle in a great caliber, .32 Winchester Special. Have some fun with this rifle – this is a honey to shoot and collectible as well.
