Seller's Description

Guns For Sale - Winchester -- Model 100 in .358 caliber

Winchester Model 100 in .358 caliber. This is what I know..The gun was sold by a mans son to me, the man said his dad used it as a "Bear rifle".The son sold it to close the estate , so I can not question the owner and the son only knows it as a "Bear Rifle". I have researched it thru Winchester customer service and they said it is not a catologed item but said it is possible to have been made by them. I went to Winchesters Collectors Assoc and they say it does not exist, I have put it on the High Road Forum to discuss it, I have called Cody Museum and they have no records. I have shown it to several competent gunsmith/gunmakers and they say it appears to be factory marked with, in there opinion true marks, bluing and does not appear redone. So there you have what I know,I am open to intelligent discussion. I am not an expert but I believe I have tryed to get as expert opinion as I can. You can decide what it is. It is in really nice shape, rates a 95% or better overall,it is missing the insert in the butt pistol grip.
