A RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 53 LEVER ACTION RIFLE IN CALIBER .25-20. SERIAL NUMBER 7800 – MADE IN 1927. The wood is in extremely nice condition with much of the original varnish remaining; no cracks, chips or gouges. The NICKEL STEEL barrel blue is excellent. The receiver retains faded blue with the majority being a light pewter/plum color. The bore has very good rifling with a little roughness. There are no scratches, dings or dents in the metal. With its button magazine, this little Model 53 is one of the handiest and lightest of all the lever Winchesters. A classic little Winchester lever action. Reserve is lower than appraised value. NOTE: Firearm will be shipped by a non licensee in accordance with ATF regulations. Make sure your dealer is aware of and agrees with this regulation. C&R license okay.
