THIS IS A PENNY AUCTION!!! BIDDING STARTS AT ONE CENT!!!. This is a Italian Model 1891 TS carbine made by Beretta in 1929. 6.5 Carcano caliber. Not a conversion. Made as a carbine. Barrel is just under 18" (17.7"). Overall length 36.2". Tangent rear sight graduated from 300 to 1500 meters. Sight flips over for a "battle sight". The spring on the slight is weak, but the sight does lock. Bent bolt handle as made by the factory, not converted. Included is a proper bayonet with scabbard that has a nice leather exterior. Bayonet blade is about 12" long. The blade is pretty good, surface rust but not bad. If it was ever sharpened it was a long time ago as the patina goes over all surfaces. No grinding marks I can see. The stock has the usual dings and dents but sound, no cracks. The serial number on the stock matches the rifle. No "Importers markings" but does have "made in Italy" stamped on the left side of the barrel near the muzzle. This indicates it is a "Pre-1968" import. I got this and a number of other rifles I am listing from an estate in Washington state and the guns belonged to a gentleman who was a WWI veteran and died back in 1977. Being a Pacific Northwest rifle, it does have some very light surface rust in places, not bad. I just wanted to leave it as is as some collectors don't like to see this type of thing cleaned up. With a little elbow grease it will clean up well. I have well oiled it to protect but NOT done any scrubbing. The barrel is good and strong, not crispy new but good strong lands & grooves with just slight frosting, NO PITS in the barrel. There are "blood pits" on the left side of the receiver. They are only on the left side of the receiver. (I added some clear pics of the blood pits, there is also traces of old blood deep in the wood) Trigger is typical two stage military. Actually pretty good. Safety works fine. All in all a pretty darn nice rifle. Ammo is available both on the net and well stocked gun shops. Hornady makes new ammunition and both RCBS & Lee make the dies. OK IN ALL 50 STATES INCLUDING CALIFORNIA. A C&R or FFL is required. I am an "01" FFL and have been an Auction Arms seller since 1999 and have over 30 years in the gun business. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence. Usual 3 business day no fire, no disassemble inspection from date of arrival at FFL applies. If returned, gun must be unfired and in same condition as shipped with buyer paying shipping both ways. Idaho dealers must include a resale certificate or 6.5% sales tax. Local Idaho residents in the Lewiston/ Nez Perce county area may arrange local pickup and Brady paperwork by appointment.
As of 1 July, 2008, ALL shipments of firearms to the state of California will require a CADOJ Firearms Shipment Approval letter.Gunsetc will apply for such, but it is the BIDDER'S responsibility to make sure any gun they bid on is acceptable into the State of California. ALL guns that are won by California bidders and are REJECTED by the CADOJ, will earn the bidder a negative feedback.Gunsetc will also NOT be responsible for any time delays incurred by this onerous requirement of the CADOJ. ALL bidders who win a firearm and expect it to be shipped into California are REQUIRED to obtain a CL (Centralized List) number from their dealer to provide it to Gunsetc at time of payment. ALL of the above is required to take place within the same 7 day payment window. CALIFORNIA C&R HOLDERS ARE OK PER MY LOCAL BATF OFFICE. DOJ requirements apply to 01 CA dealers BUT not 03 C&R holders for rifles only.
Payment by Cashier's check or money order only. No credit cards and no paypal. A signed C&R or FFL required. I am a licensed dealer and always include an FFL with any gun I sell. Shipping is in a new Docksil airline approved hardcase for $40 including the case, shipping and insurance. To the lower 48 states. AK & HI must go PRIORITY MAIL at actual USPS rates. Although I pack carefully and insure fully, you can't easily replace a rifle like this, so a hard case avoids potential problems. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking! Questions from GunAuction.com Users...
If you don't sell the rifle, send me an e mail (ironheadcr1yahoo***GunAuction***), I don't bid online since I'm only online once a week. Thanks.
Sorry, but it doesn't work like that. Once anyone bids on a "penny auction" it's sold. Take care, Joe
