This is a 1865 56-52 Caliber Spencer Carbine. The serial number on this carbine is: 50254. On the stock is stamped P.C.C.3 on both sides of the stock. There are a few small scratches on the right hand stock. This gun is in good condition with the exception of a very small piece of wood missing from the left forearm. A nice find for the Civil War gun collector. In addition, in 1999 I had this gun researched by Antique American Firearms and the results are as follows: This gun was assigned to Civil War Regiment of the 7th Indiana Vol. Cavalry/1865 OR the 2nd Wisconsin Vol. Cavalry/1865. This is classified as a Range Match. A Range Match indicates that the weapons issued to the Civil War Regiment(s) listed. Therefore, a high probability exist that the gun was issued to a soldier in the regiment(s) listed.
