Description

Seller's Description:
Antique German Drilling Handmade by German W. Kommer (see markings) for Gustav Dien Frankfurt A.M. (main) see marking pictured. The External Hammers would indicate Pre WWII. Both shotgun barrels are stamped on top Krupp Fluss Stahl, Krupp was a German steel maker (one of the very best), and "fluss" means "fluid" (a.k.a. rolled steel versus damascus) "stahl" means "steel", on the bottom they are stamped 2.5gr Sch P over 28.8 gr Bl. The underside of the rifle barrel is stamped 118.35 over 5.58 over 886, the serial number is also present (3615) and matches receiver 9see pics). The rifle bore is fair with sharp and clear rifling the shotgun bores are good with good shine, 26-3/4" barrels. The barrel switch activates the right hammer to fire the rifle. This gun has full game scene engraving on receiver, bullet trap in stock and pop up rifle barrel sight. The elaborate engravings would indicate a high end piece for it's time, probably by a master engraver, of high relief engravings, depicting woodlands with deer and stag a beautiful checked stock (small area where hand grips the checking has developed a "flat" look, but is still easily visible and could be re-grooved). The gun appears to be in excellent mechanical condition, and has excellent bores.
