In the early 60's Argentina began to issue Browning Hi-Power 9mm's to the Army officers. This is one of the early issue to police with the "Policia de la Provincia de Buenos Aires" crest and date of issuance 1961. The crest on the top of the slide is excellent and clear. This pistol has not been refinished or restored. All matching numbers and FN made (Argentina made and is making Browning licensed copies--this is Belgian!) The grips are excellent, Belgian, and not damaged. The gun shows a great deal of carry wear but is excellent in fit and finish. The mag safety has been removed and the parts will be sent with the gun to the winning bidder. Great trigger and functions fine. Bore is shiney with some darkening in grooves that probably will clean (lead?). Pics show overall condition. It is quite collectible and very shootable. See Alex Gherovici's book on "Military Pistols of Argentina" for complete info on the various contract series. NO FOREIGN SALES Money Order Only Must have FFL as this gun is not C&R eligible. Shipping via USPS Priority Mail Insured with Delivery Confirmation $20.00 in Continental USA. Please email any questions, I collect and shoot the Argentine series and think they are great values for collecting and using!

Questions from GunAuction.com Users...
What about the crest on top of the side! Is it clear, or did some fool file it down?? Also, are there only importation markings?? Thanks.
Crest is beautiful, sharp and clear. No, not defaced. It is the Province police crest and a crest was not commonly placed on guns for police--only or mostly military from what I have seen. Evidently the capitol cops were more special!!!!
No importation marks anywhere visible. So must be before the requirement.
