J. P. Sauer Model 38H with holster and spare magazine. SN 318317. 7.65mm. 3.38 inch barrel, blue finish, with plastic grips. Wartime production commercial pistol with leather holster and spare magazine. The pistol with bright blue finish and “Eagle/N” proof marks. The left side of the slide is marked “CAL. 7.65 JP Shuer & Sohn Suhl. The right side of the slide has Patent. The base of the magazine is marked:with the Sauer Trade mark and “ CAL. 7.65mm”. The spare magazine is as marked on the one in the pistol. “Eagle/N” proof marks are stamped on the right side of the slide below the rear sight, the right side of the slide below the serial number . The grips are checkered black plastic. The left grip is embossed with the encircled Sauer “SS” monogram. The holster is a brown leather marked inside with “SAUER H 7.65” and on the upper corner of the flap is unreadable CONDITION: Near mint. The pistol retains between 95 and 97% of the original, bright blue. Wear is limted to holster wear, near the muzzle and and right side of slide. . All markings are extremely sharp. The bore is near mint. The grip screws are as new. the grips themselves are mint. The magazines have between 95 and 98% of the original finish. The holster is in excellent condition with tight stitching and some normal wear of the leather from age and general field use. The markings are clear and sharp. The capture papers are a copy of an orginal. I bought these off of a buddy who bought them from the widow of the vet. Very nice rig and if I collected German pistol again this is a difiant keeper.
