A very unique pistol, probably made to look like a Smith and Wesson, but possibly made by Iver Johnson, but I am not sure. Only markings are "For 38 Smith and Wesson Ctgs" on top of barrel, and the "Secret Service Special" marking on left side of barrel. As shown in the inset picture, there is a unique push button, frame mounted, safety device that locks the hammer. The safety has a May 22, 1917 patent date. I have never seen one of these before. Pistol retains about 98% of the original blue finish, visible case hardening colors visible on the hammer and trigger. Original hard rubber grips are "as new". Bore is excellent and the pistol may be unfired. Action is tight as new and operates perfectly in both double and single action. I'll need the buyer to furnish a signed FFL or C&R and include $10 shipping by Priority Mail. Buy 3 guns and I will pay the shipping on the second two!!
