Seller's Description: Update to this Auction! Upon further inspection of this air pistol we found that it WILL NOT fire. The pistol pumps and the trigger pulls fine, but there is no report. The pistol probably just needs new seals, otherwise it appears to be in very good mechanical condition. This is a Benjamin Super Single-Shot Air Pistol Model 137. The Model 137 is a bolt action, breech loading, hammer fire, hand pump pistol that uses compressed air to propel either a .177 caliber pellet (which fits tight in rifled grooves) or dart (smooth metal shanks). Benjamin recommends using .177 Benjamin H-C pellets for best results. This air pistol has a hair trigger, adjustable rear sight, safety and is for right or left-hand shooters. This air pistol has an 8" rifled bronze barrel with a gun metal finish (black) and a walnut pump handle. The plastic grips feature thumb rests mounted on a gun metal finish butt. The air pistol is in excellent condition with just a slight amount of wear in the gun metal finish on the sides of the barrel and air chamber and at the rear of the barrel and air chamber (see photos). There's also a few spots of orange paint on the right-grip (could probably be removed with a bit of scrubbing). Otherwise the air pistol is like-new and in excellent condition (see photos). The left-side of the barrel is stamped "Benjamin Franklin" with "MADE IN U.S.A" and a serial number of "B127437". The right-side of the barrel is stamped "CAL 177 MODEL 137". The rear of the air chamber is stamped "BENJAMIN AIR RIFLE ST LOUIS USA" The air pistol comes with its original cardboard box, instruction sheet, Benjamin air gun checklist, Benjamin air pistol fold-out advertisement and Crossman Pellgun Oil card with tube (see photos). The cardboard box is tattered with the top and corners having been taped to keep the box together. There's also some writing in pen on the inside of the top. All the papers are a bit yellowed from age, but all are in good condition with no rips tears or writing on them (see photos). The air pistol also comes with a bill-of-sale dated from 1972. Serial #B127437. Stk. #4833. Overall this air pistol is excellent in appearance and appears to be mechanically sound, however we did not test-fire this air pistol.
