Thread Title: "Logging Out Guns that are sent out then returned?"
(no avatar) OK...would like to hear from you volume guys...lets take this scenario: Gun purchased, gun shipped, we log out IMMEDIATELY. Gun makes it to buyers dealer the next day, buyer is waiting right there, looks at gun, says as is his right...I dont want it, send it back. Now technically, buyers FFL is supposed to log in immediately upon receipt....if he does and sends it back...copasetic...Ill have an entry for the gun going out, he'll have one in and out, and I'll have a new entry for the gun coming in. On the other hand, lets say he doesnt log it in or out...just sends it back...Now I've got it coming in from him, but he has no entry of it coming in or out. Now its really not my problem, but I can see in some unlikely events the ATF questioning the transaction (its like over prescribing medical tests, you can never be too careful)....so...safe being sorry, should I require PROOF from the recipient dealer that he has fulfilled his obligations to login/out...guess its academic since we have only had I think two returns in 650 plus transactions......but ya never know. What say ye fellow sellers (and Im not intersted in smarmy, or indeed any, responses from the playground clique)
