Thread Title: "James Edward Mehaffey (aka Jim Mahafee) and Garret Spoon Hunter."
AIC I have told a few storys of Mahafee and his ol' indian pard Garret Spoonhunter. And I am fixing to tell a few more, however there will be conditions to be met before I post the storys.

Jim's health is not the best he needs to go to the VA hospital sevral times a month which is 185 miles away in Reno. that is just one way. He gets $812 a month total imcome, the VA gives him $30 for travle expences each trip. After Jim pays his bills each month he only has $120 left for food, whisky, tabaco, and gas. If Jim doesn't buy any food, whisky, or tabaco he has enough money for two trips to Reno and the VA has been requiring him to make 1 to 2 trips down there every week and it does not look like it will be changing anytime soon.

So here is the deal; Jim gave me some very old books he has to sell for his benifit. I am going to list them in Fibber McGee's closet and for every one that brings hunderd dollers or more I will post a true story about Jim.

AIC dralarms; Here is what in the book

Set up, Electrotyped, and published July, 1903. Reprinted July; August, September, December 1903; January, March,September, November, 1904; Febuary, 1905." So if I guess it would be an uneducated guess. However from this, maybe someone will know.

argentine Ha, what a day! Feeling down cause I could not help the guy with the .257 Roberts and then came home to find the chance to bump AA-bob a few more dimes out of his piggy bank and knock NYNN444 off on one of his bids...Keep it up NYNN444, remember it is for a worthy cause and each time I outbid you it is that guy with the pregnant bathtub doing it! Ain't life grand! Mirandavoid, watch your bid, I am gunning!! Now, AIC, don't let this fundraising detour you from your regularly scheduled program, if you know what I mean...

(no avatar) Well ; I got me an idea .

You see; I just HAPPEN to have one of the last guns our old friend "EAGLESNEST" ever sold .

It is a TRUE "CAT HERDER SPECIAL SCATTER GUN ". Goes right along with the original 22 cal. "CAT HERDER SPECIAL " that AA-BOB won .

Anyone interested , that I put it up for auction for Jim Mahaffey , I will give you the original auction number and you can look at it yourself . It will knock your eyes out .

This was one of "EAGLESNEST" PERSONAL collection and if I did not have some other things that "EAGLE" sent me to remember him by , money could not buy it . But in my own way I think "EAGLE " would like this.

Pappa Jim Argentine

You don't have to gun to hard to beat my bid. Mamma's got me on a tight budget for now. When she's making the money its save, save, save. When I make it it's spend, spend, spend. Most times her money is her money and my money is her money.

argentine I do know what you mean. CYRO was going to try to snitch to my wife about the gun AIC is building for me and if he had there would be no more Argentine....

(no avatar) Alright; "HAMMERHEADS" , The closed auction number on the "CAT HERDER SPECIAL" from "EAGLESNEST" is # 7068887. It is a beautiful piece of history AND belonged to one of our beloved members that has gone on to the "HAPPY HUNTIN GROUND" .

Ya'll look at it and , if you think we can run the bids up enough to help Jim Mahafee out I will list it . I have $500.00 in it , but I expect to see it bring at least twice that for Jim .

What say you ?
