| (no avatar) | when my dad died and they laid the flag that covered his coffin in my hands i shed a tear. but the dog i have now i got fgrom owners that didnt care about her really, she got parvo and i kept trying to get my ex to let me take her to the vet and she wouldnt do so because she wasnt our dog, (she slept in our house and would get out of the owners back yard and be waiting for me when i got home), i told her it didnt matter she would at least be alive. that still wasnt acceptable. she just kept getting worse so i came home one day with the material i had bought from work to make her a coffin because i knew she would be dead when i got there, when i got home she wasnt on my porch waiting for me and i knew she had passed. i walked next door and asked them where she was they said oh she is laying there in that puddle of water, i walked over and picked her up and cradled her in my arms. she was still breathing and i began to tell them she needed a vet they kept saying it was too expensive and i began bawling my eyes out over someone elses dog because they wouldnt care for her and it guilted them into taking her to the vet. i wound up paying half the bill and when she got out they asked if i still wanted her. she has been with me ever since. so i can see crying over the passing of a beloved animal and not a person. too often a person will stab you in the back and treat you wrong but the love from a dog and even the cats ive had has always seemed like it was pure whole and totally unconditional |

Here is my two.
These two Lady's are NUTS!!! The blond dog Ms. T AKA "bad dog" has got quite the nose on her and will attack anything I point at on command, Sometimes good...Sometimes very bad if I don't watch what I say around her. She was a rescue and has really worked out to be a great dog. She doesn't like anyone of color and mostly connects with me but is and has been very protective of our little girl and my wife, Sometimes to the point of needing to put her in the kennel when new company comes over. But once she sees me with whom ever she's alright pretty fast. The black dog Bella AKA "toe jam football" is also a rescue from up in Oregon, She is nothing but a dog... She loves my wife and is connected to her 24/7, She sleeps with us |

Here is Lucy,Golden and Shepard mix,was smarter than a few people i know. She lived 16years and three months-not bad for a 60# dog.Active right to the end of her life-she just dropped dead during the night.Loved cats, kids, other animals and people, but would alert you to somebody strange. She had to swim for it during Katrina, survived 12 days after the storm in 100 deg/100% hum on MRE's.Stayed 3mo with my buddy and his wife in NC while we relocated(his wife actually cried when it was time for Lucy to come back with us) and she lived here in Hartwell with us for a year and a half. |

Wali, do you mean shepherd? Hell, I don't know, just a 45lb dog, meaner than my wife, (would bite you real quick) if he didn't know you, had long hair, head like a lab, only a bit smaller, very muscular, and, I was thinking "shetland sheep dog" I'm not real good with looking a a dog and knowing the breed. Iwas wrong about the breed, this is the closest pic I could find. Only the head was more "square" than "pointed" WALI............... |
