Thread Title: "California Bidders "
ARAY

I clearly put on my auctions no sales to California. I have nothing against California, but I am an FFL dealer and do not care to take the time to get registered there. My decision, but in the past year I have had 2 winning bidders from that state. The last was this weekend.  In both cases I have given them the choice of paying the auction fees or me leaving Negative Feedback so I can get a relist credit. Both people told me that the paper work was no problem and they could send them to me. I get the impression that there are those in the State of California that are trying to force those of us that choose not to be registered with their DOJ to become registered.

Each time this happens I have to relist the firearm and I may or may not get the price that the first auction had. Anyway-just venting and leaving my 2 cents.

ARAY - That's my philosphy on retirement, too.  I learned it from my dog.  If you can't eat it or have fun with it, just pee on it and walk away.

OMJ - The 686-6 is on the list - The 686-1 is not - Do I ship one there or not ? - I tried once and was advised that I could not - That is the problem with shipping to CA - If it were just registering I would do it in a jiffy - No one wants to get stuck for something as dumb as that -

Here in the Great State of Texas we took a page from Arkansas's play book and sent our Governor off to get elected to Washington so he don't bother us no more.

People in California elected Jerry Brown and he dated Linda Ronstadt and it don't get no better than that (at least here in the Great State of Texas).

Kag, I absolutely agree, I would want anyone to get stuck with a return of a firearm, Because thats all that would happen, You would not go to jail, you would not be fined, you would have no issues against your FFL.  It is a state thing NOT a Federal thing.  It happens more then most realize and I have NEVER heard of an FFL "reporting" anything to anyone.  The firearm is simply returned to the sending FFL and the money is refunded.  No transfer has taken place, There for no "crime" has been committed.

The easiest way to keep from having a none approved handgun returned is to go EXACTLY by what is on the approved handgun roster, http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/ Don't read into it and don't let ANYONE tell you different.   There are many different configurations of the 686-6  if the one you want to sell is a match to a listed description of the -6 you have then send it, There are NO -1 listed so NONE of them could be sent with one exception.  If the barrel is 6" or longer and it is made into a single shot it can be shipped to an CA FFL and transfered.  It is becoming common for sellers that want to expand into the ever increasing handgun market here to simply block all but one cylinder with rubber plugs that have screws in them to expand the rubber into the Cly so it can not be removed without the use of a none attached tool.  Same goes with auto loaders, Block the magazine so the CA buyer needs to simply drop one round into the chamber and make sure it has a 6" barrel.  There are LOADS of aftermarket barrel company's and some are seeing the potential for profit buy making these barrels available to both sellers and end users.  What the buyer does to the firearm after it's been transfered is not the receiving FFL's concern or problem.

Also if the handgun is older the 50 years of age it can be sent here no matter what ( less any high cap mags PUT TOGETHER AS A FUNCTIONING MAGAZINE, All the parts can be sent )

The bottom line to me is that of someone could sell a -6 plus 7 shot with a 2.5" barrel ( you can ) for say... $600 to a CA resident and all it took was a quick check to verify it was good to be send here, WHY NOT???  are we really that busy that we can't spend 2 min of our time to make $600 right now???  Those are easy number folks!!

Kag, I was busting your balls with the NY residents being able to read comment, the INTERNET is a wealth of knowledge and the CADOJ firearms devision is always will to talk with dealers, residents and none residents.

Follow the list, Get signed up with the CFLC and MAKE MORE MONEY!!  By not selling to CA residents your doing exactly what the dumb $hit$ here want you to do, Stick it too them and help keep the guns coming in ( legally )

Here is a link to the CFLC program CFLC home page click on the ENROLL in CFLC button in green and get 'er done.  It's free and only takes a minute, Most of the dealers I've turned onto this have been very grateful, THEY MAKE MORE MONEY!!!!
