Elitist, we had the same legend back in NE PA about shooting albino's

It is illegal to shoot a true albino in most states up here. You can legally take a piebald.Given his situation, I would have blasted that sucker faster than hell. First it is legal, second he has a hell of a mount and third, he will make a hunk of change with it if he wishes. Fact is, most albino bucks have crap for horns and that is why his is drawing so much attention from the hunting community.   Trapper

You guys just read just what you want to read-where in the comments pasted below the article did poster bash hunters and hunting. He bashed the "greed and lack of values" He is probably one of the hunters who followed local tradition and passed on a shot at the same deer. Here it is again --read it well.

"There has been a herd a partially albino, with the rare full albino, deer living out in the Mineral Wells to Rock Port area for over 40 years that I know of. Occasionally you can see them on Limestone Hill and Windy Ridge. Everyone who hunts inthat area has let them pass repeatedly due to their rarity and natural beauty. Most people have to go o alarge zoo to see such animals while we are priveledged enough tohave them wild here, due mainly to hunters who admire nature and love the woods. Mr DeBarry you just shot a communities pet, one that many other hunters have passed on since they appriciate it's rarity. You should be ashamed of your greed and lack of values."

When someone publicly admits, and brags about. killing someones dog, cat, ect who accidentally trespassed on his property-that my friends,in the civilized world,is called animal abuse and a lack of values. And by making those comments, his reputation will proceed him everywhere,as shown in the comments under the article, and these are posted by the locals.

I spent fifteen years of my life  crawling thru briars, thorn bushes, red ants and chiggers to help put animal abusers where they belong. And i don't regret a minute of it,not for a moment, and will call a spade a spade when i see one.

And as far a someone possibly hinting i'm a anti hunting,i been a ardent waterfowl hunter from the age of 12 until about 40 and come from a family deep rooted with hunters-this ain't about hunting,as the man said, it is about greed and a lack of values.

Gents,While I don't know if I would shoot an albino,One's never crossed my path.I'm not gonna condemn Joe for doing it .This is about free choice and your right to do as you see fit......Krp

Hagrid; Joe has been huntin on this property for over 50 years . Not a big tract of land not far from where he lives.

Hartwell was quoting what one of the posters had said about another area. He wasn't talkin about where Joe killed this deer.

Hartwell, you better reread your post 13, you say---You guys just read just what you want to read-where in the comments pasted below the article did poster bash hunters and hunting. He bashed the "greed and lack of values" He is probably one of the hunters who followed local tradition and passed on a shot at the same deer. Here it is again --read it well. " This guy probably passed a shot at the SAME deer." That was your quote. The implication is that the deer Joe shot came from this tame herd. You are like all anti's you are the savers of the animal world. You have made your anti-hunting feeling known here before. That is your right. But if you are going to publicly chastise a hunter make sure of your facts first. Rattler just gave you the fact I already knew from talks with joe. I just didn't want to get into another pissing match with you. So don't give us this pro hunting crap when we know you gave it up in the pursuit of animal rights. Again, that is your right just be honest about it.   Trapper

I support Joe, We have a heard of white deer here on the Northern CA coast, They are protected but if a draw was offered for that heard I would apply for a tag.  I'm a meat hunter and don't really care about the trophy aspect of things but given the opportunity to take a white deer I would do as Joe has and have the hole thing mounted.  it's one thing to read about them, Another to look at pics of one, But a completely different thing to physically show a example of one.  I may catch grief for my statement but I believe if he was in his legal ability's to take a white deer it's his choice, I read somewhere that someone referred to these white deer as pets?  WHAT?  Their WILD-life, It's all in the name, LOL.

Some chose to shoot wildlife with their cameras, others with more destructive devices, I think all should be respected for their personal decision to do what they may too the wildlife that god has provided for us.

"You are like all anti's you are the savers of the animal world"

Again Hagrid you don't know what you are talking about ,and it is just another BANDWAGON you can jump on.What kind of a person you are to let animal abuse go unchecked,a true sports minded individual wouldn't think of it.I am a firm backer of hunting, actually hunting makes for proper conservation. But i'm a promoter of responsible hunting.

"This guy probably passed a shot at the SAME deer"

That was my summation based on what a person in the "same area" posted, and regardless what you say that in my opinion was the same herd.If you read the guys comment he did "not" say it was a tame herd,he said it was a herd, that because of the white deer and the piebalds, it was respected by hunters, with values, within the area.

"So don't give us this pro hunting crap when we know you gave it up in the pursuit of animal rights"

.--I probably spent more time with a shotgun in my hands then you ever did with a rifle-you don't know what you are talking about,in fact you don't know enough about me, to know my past, and warrant a foolish statement like that. What i did had nothing to do with animal rights it had everything to do with "idiots" that  were guilty of felony animal cruelty and abuse.

You new guys should know that this white deer napper laughed and boasted,on the forums, about killing his neighbors pets when they ventured on his property.Based on just this i have to believe the "local guy" from the comments column.

Even in Indian folklore it is a very bad act, with serious consequences ,to kill a odd animal, they are held sacred, IE albino deer.Wish him the best!!-Where are my beads, feathers, doll and pins??
