Thread Title: "Server Outage....."
AuctionArmsCeo Our apologies. We've had some difficulty with a database server, but seem to have ironed things out. After pounding on a machine in our data center for the last twelve hours, I seem to have lost some coherence, so please bear with me. We were forced to restore from a backup taken in the early AM hours of the 15th, so if you posted an auction at all yesterday, I'm sorry to report that we were unable to recover that data. All auctions that were scheduled to end during our downtime have been rescheduled to end at 8PM, this evening.

If you submitted a bid between 2AM and 4PM on the 15th, please take a look at the auction to make sure that the High Bidder is correctly displayed. If you see anything unusual, please give us a holler and we'll make it right.

Thankyou for bearing with us as we get this all sorted out. Everything is currently almost back to normal. As always, if you're a user who had a problem that needs our attention because of this outage, we'll work to make it right. Don't hesitate to call.

gov2mod Petesguns, check your auctions again. Even though one of my auctions seemed to have lost the bidders, they were still there. Go to your auction and click on the bidder list, even if it says "0 Bid" It will still show all of the bidders that previously bid. A short time ago my bidder returned anyway.

Hi, folks. Just an update to keep you informed of the site's current status. Manny and Mike tell me that we are about 90% recovered from the server outages of yesterday and should be up completely soon. After working all night on the problem, they took a bit of down time to clear the cob webs, but are back at it.

We are still having issues with our picture server. It was working at 5:00 AM this morning but has encountered some more problems. I understand that should be fixed today.

Bids placed yesterday should begin to appear properly in the auctions as the recovery process continues. This is the next action item in the queue.

several posts to the Forums were lost during the outage. We didn't delete them, just lost the data so

I've asked Support to clear out the phone messages so that new ones can be left if they are on the other line.

We are well aware of and sorry for the problems and inconvenience you are experiencing, so if you can, please hold down the level of calls to tell us the site is having problems. If you have a specific problem that is not related to the current temporary site/server problems and you are unable to reach support or leave a message there, I can be reached at 707-642-3006.

(no avatar) Thanks for your efforts. As of 4:30PM EDT, photo images are still absent from web auction pages when accessed by my computer.

(no avatar) When I click on "List an Item" the site times out. Anyone else having this problem?

Petesguns Thanks all, I am sure ALL is being done as is possible. Thanks for the tip on the bids....they are there, hope they are still good. Unfortunately, the lost auctions are among the missing, but they can always be relisted when the site is back to it's old self. Keep the faith!

(no avatar) Right now I have some no pictures, some auctions have have moved "backward" in bids (although the bid history is correct) and I have bidders emailing me saying that they are getting strange emails from AA saying that their maximum bid is higher than what they originally bid.

(no avatar) I submitted a bid higher than the highest bid, but the bid has not posted on the item. I did receive an email stating I was the high bidder, but it does show that on the item.

Update 2:35 PM PDST:

Our crack tech SWAT Team (Manny and Mike) are zeroing in on the Picture server problems. It (the server) is still demonstrating some instability so they may still have to "go in" after those terrorist bugs.

Consequently you may experience intermittent Pictures/thumbnail availability in the auctions as they get all those Terrorist Server bugs surrounded and terminated with extreme prejudice.

We currently expect most if not all issues to be resolved this PM.

Updating the apparent bid problem will be next item on the "Hit List". If any auction closes before that procedure is carried out, SWAT Team tells me the bids have been registered in the system (as you all have been able to see in the bid history) and will clear appropriately at end-of-auction with true high bidder winning the auction and receiving the winner's announcement(s).

Thanks for your patience and understanding during this recovery.
