Thread Title: "Is SARCO Incompentent?"
(no avatar) On Dec 2 2004, I sent a Postal M.O. to Sarco for a rifle. I had checked earlier the same day to comfirm they had the paticular rifle. "Yes", was the answer. Waited until Dec 21, called to confirm order. Was told by the lady in charge of mail orders that they had no record of my order. On Dec 22 I filled out a form with the Post Office to get my money back for a possible lost letter. That takes two months to get a refund. Now, I have postage, long distance phone calls and a fee from the P.O. to get my money back. Yesterday (Jan 6th) I received a letter from Sarco with my postal M.O. and a note stateing the letter was received on Dec 6th and item was sold out. Now I ask all of you, would you do business with a lousy outfit like Sarco? I certainly will not.

(no avatar) My only dealing with sarco was about five years ago on a new unopened M84 scope for the m1 garand. It arrived new in the package(vietnam vintage?) and in a timely manner.

(no avatar) I dealt with SARCO back in the pre-computer age for nickel-dime items, usually getting shoddy stuff, but no big loss. My sense from this string and from countless other negative comments on other forums is that they are still operating as if the computer, credit cards, etc, had never been invented. Its been years since I phoned them about anything, but what I recall was an attitude of arrogant indifference. I agree with those who urge having nothing to do with this firm.
