Discussion Forum Rules
These are the Discussion Forum Rules. If you can't abide by them, your posts will be yanked.
We won't consult you, we'll just yank it. If you continue to annoy us, you will lose the ability
to use the forum.
1) No profanity or name calling. Keep is professional and neutral.
I don't care if you think the poster is a scum-sucking, ripoff artist. You're not here to call names. Neither
are you to engage in uncivility or ill-manners. If you're not comfortable saying it in real life because you
know someone would be perfectly justified in punching your lights out, don't say it in the forums. That's just rude.
In other words, we reserve the right be arbiters of taste and manners - try not to offend. Unless it's really funny.
2) No personal information. This means your personal information, or the personal information of another
user. The only exception to this rule is in the "Scammer and Fraud Alerts" category. (If you must post
personal information in that category, it must be restricted to info that clearly identifies the perpetrator -
such as an email address or the like.) Otherwise, in identifying yourself or someone else in the forum, please
stick to GunAuction.com Nicknames. No phone numbers, real names, addresses, email addresses, etc. The reason we
have this rule is because there are unscrupulous types out there that monitor forums for the purpose of trying
to steal people's identities.
3) No spamming or illegal activity. Don't post identical or extremely similar posts. No advertising
other websites. You may point out an auction for an item of interest, or as a response to a request on the
Wish List. But if it looks like you're advertising, we'll call you on it. If you engage in illegal activity
that in our view, jeopardizes GunAuction.com' reputation or viability, we'll disable your account. We reserve
the right to make that call. Be aware that this is a public forum.
4) The original Thread Author is also the Thread Admin. If you start a thread, you manage it. That means
making sure that posters behave themselves, and follow our rules. Thread Admins that don't do their job in
policing their thread will have that thread closed. If you have a problem with someone, bring it up to the
Thread Admin IN THAT THREAD. Do not attempt to contact GunAuction.com management, as we will make fun of your
email and promptly forget about you.
5) Threads without any active posts for more than a year will be archived off the Forum. If you want
to keep a thread active, people must continue to use it. No sense in keeping stuff around that isn't being
used.
6) Be prepared to see your feedback next to your post. We think it's a good idea for folks to see how much
feedback you've got, when you voice your opinion. We tend to lend more weight to folks with better feedback,
than with someone who has a lot of Negatives. The feedback that gets posted is whatever feedback you have at the
time of it's posting, and it's NOT updated as your feedback changes. NO, we don't update your feedback in your
posts - there's just too much overhead in trying to maintain that.
7) No GunAuction.com bashing. We're receptive to constructive criticism, and the Discussion Forum is another
method we use to improve our service by being in touch with our users. But if you start bashing our site for
the sake of making us look bad, or in an attempt to drive our customers away, we'll shut you down. Again, we
reserve the right to make that distinction. |
