Thread Title: "Bad Buy-Probably My Fault"
(no avatar) Recently won an Enfield #1Mk.III. When it came it was obvious it was not the same rifle pictured and seller didn't state picture was representative. E-mailed seller to inquire and state obvious differences and received a very defensive reply asking if I wanted to return the rifle. I said no (first mistake)I just wanted assurance that what was pictured was what I bought. That I did not get. What I got was an ego inflated dialogue about the book he had written on enfields but never an answer to my question about the picture. He also stated that this was a last year of production for this rifle but the official enfield web site(in England) disputes this claim.I posted a non-comittal pos. feedback due to communication(before delivery)prompt shipping and packaging(second mistake). He posted a less than A+ on me, but not negative. Is this the proper place to identify this seller. I've waited too long to edit my feedback and since I made some mistakes in the way I handled this...advice please.

(no avatar) topkick ; I am much less qualified to answer your question than others on the forum . And I would bet you will get a response from them also . Judging from the information you have given I will give you my opinion . First ; The item listed in pictures should be the item you received . Unless it is a new item and seller has more than one and they are all identical . In the case of a used item it should always be the item pictured . If I was you I would contact seller again to see if he might be more agreeable to try to come to some kind of an agreement . If that doesn't work contact A A with ALL information stating all the facts . If you are in the right , it probably could still be taken care of even though feedback has been posted . JUST MY OPINION .

(no avatar) Contacting AA directly is a thought-I saved the e-mail responses he sent me and his reluctance to answer direct questions is evident.I wonder if they would be intrested in reading them? Thanks for the input.

topkick: Please advise Bob at Auction Arms of this. AA's rules and regulations state very clearly that the item that is shown and described in the auction, IS the one that you are bidding on and receive if you are the winning bidder. I know exactly who you are talking about, and not any use to call names and list it here. Let Bob know and I am sure that he will take care of the matter. As well, if the Enfield is not the one that was shown and described in the auction, you have every right to return it for a full refund. Bob can advise you better on this than anyone else. Thanks for bringing this up, for, it has been a topic of this forum before.

(no avatar) Topkick:Thanks for writing. All of us sellers are concerned about the integrity of this site,we don't need unhappy buyers on AA.You have a right to receive what you paid for.In reading his description he states the rifle was made during its last full year of production so if they made a few more the next year his description is okay.Saving your emails was very wise.In reading his feedback on you as long as its positive its good.A lot of Ishapores look alike.Do you feel yours is equal or less than the model pictured? If its still a good rifle and you are willing to keep it I might drop your seller one more line and have him read this thread and see if he's willing to adjust a little to keep peace. But if your state of mind is beyond that you have all you need to get AA involved.Good Luck.

(no avatar) I agree about not using specific names/nicknames unless in the form of a specific rebuttal. Been thinking this over all day and am putting it all together to send in.If in the opinion of AA I'm off base with my concernes I apologize for using band width unnecesisarily(?).
