| (no avatar) | THERE SHOULD BE A BOX FOR THE NEXT HIGEST BIDDER TO GET THE ITEM IN CASE THE HIGHST BIDDER BACKS OUT, IS A NON PAYER, OR DISABLED. |

| (no avatar) | I THINK THE SELLER SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO LEAVE FEEDBACK BY THE 4th. day after the ITEM IS RECIVED BY THE BUYER,BUYER MOST LEAVE FEEDBACK BY THE 3rd. DAY IF EITHER FAILES TO DO SO THEN THEY SHOULD RECIVE NEG. FEEDBACK, ONLY EXCUSE IS THAT THEY ARE CONFINED TO HOSPITAL. |

| (no avatar) | I agree that somehow feedback should be mandatory. Perhaps a two week time limit would overcome some objections. I have had several transactions in which the other party was too lazy to leave feedback. |

| (no avatar) | I think feedback should be left immediately when either seller or buyer has done their part , but I won't get on my high horse about that again . The part that really gripes me are sellers that drag around about posting feedback . I usually give them a week and then I contact them and ask did they forget to post my feedback . I have gotten all kinds of excuses why they don't post in a timely manner . Every thing from they only post every two weeks to they have just not got around to it . I really ticked one seller off . After several contacts to him and all his "I'M BETTER THAN YOU ATTITUDE " Lame brain excuses I finally told him if he had posted the feedback when he received my hard earned money , he wouldn't be worried with me now . He said he would get around to it in a few days . I went out in the drive way and found a good round rock , got a marking pencil and wrote "ROUND TU IT " on the rock and mailed it to him priority mail . Put a note in the package and said ; NOW YOU DON'T HAVE AN EXCUSE , YOU HAVE GOT A ROUND TU IT . On the third night my feedback had a real nice write up about how patient I was and what a valued customer I was . B-U-U-T I still would never buy from him again . Just my old peculiar backwoods way .I have a few buyers that never left feedback for me , but I only remind them one time and if they don't respond I let it go . |

| (no avatar) | nynn444, I agree completely, I block any buyer who fails to post feedback on my auctions. I don't have a problem with a buyer just posting 1 feedback on multiple purchases. I immediately post feedback the day I receive payment and provide the buyer with a UPS tracking#. I will not bid on a sellesr auctions if they don't post feedback to me. There simply is not any excuse for not posting feedback after the deal has been completed. Just an old cowboy's opinion! Bill |

| (no avatar) | Ok, going to go out on a limb here and disagree. I feel feedback is earned, not demanded. And even if I feel I earned it and they still don't leave it, I don't worry about it. If you do your part, positive feedbacks will stack up over time. Most if not all bidders don't care if you have 50 or 500 positive feedbacks. What is important to them is that most if not all of them are positive. If I had a storefront, I might leave a stack of customer feedback forms on the counter, but I would never require every customer to fill out a feedback form before I would let them out (or back in) the door. For many auction sellers (like me) this is a part time gig or a hobby. They have demanding full time jobs (like me) and kids with baseball games (like me) and hobbies like hunting and fishing (like me) that cause us to have to juggle time. Because of that, it may take me over 2 weeks to leave feedback. Buyers fit this role even more and it is why it may take them over two weeks to leave feedback or even not at all. I believe in the K.I.S.S. principle. If you create too many rules, like Mandatory feedback in a short time frame after an auction, you will just drive bidders away. Buyers want a transaction to be easy and simple and don't want to be hastled. All that said, I do always leave feedback on every one of my auctions, just not as fast as most. But again, if I don't get feedback in return. No big deal. They can show me how postive the last trade was by coming back to bid/buy again. And they do. Not wanting to debate with you guys. Just wanting to give a different opinion to think about. As a southern gentleman, I will ask that we just agree to disagree on this one my friends. John |

texastradingpost: Great job, and the best post I've seen regarding this matter (even better than mine - ha ha). Whether I am a seller or buyer, I usually leave feedback immediately upon completion of "my" end of the transaction. I email the buyer or seller and advise that I left feedback for them and request that they leave whatever feedback they feel I deserve for the same. If they do - fine, if not - no problem. However, I do believe that feedback should be left by a buyer or seller, but, don't believe making it mandatory would solve the problem. Again, my hat is off to you John. especially for having over 900 positive with no negative feedback. |

| (no avatar) | Feedback is great, but don't be in too much of a hurry to get it posted. Instead, get it right. Two weeks ago I purchased a shotgun........paid for it promptly....dealer shipped it promptly......I inspected it and rejected it within the 3 day window......I returned it promptly.......Dealer refunded my money promptly.... transaction of refund posted on my charge card account two days later.....end of deal, but with shipping both ways, and charge card processing time, it took more than two weeks to complete. Dealer did everything correctly, so positive response was sent. Had I sent that response earlier, and the dealer delayed the refund, my feedback would not have been positive. Not all timing "rules" fit all situations.......... |
