Thread Title: "bass bait"
(no avatar) I was fishing a small private pond when something caught my attention. out of the corner of my eye, I saw a gray squirrel walking a pine limb that hung out over the pond. Directly underneath, there was an old oak stump that was about 2" above the water line. In the center of the stump was an acorn. When the squirrel jumped off the limb to get the acorn, the limb flipped back up.I was wondering how the squirrel was going to get off the stump when my line bagan to twitch. While I was looking away, I heard a tremendous SPLAT. looking over at the stump, I saw only rings in the water. Now I know what you're thinking. thats why I was determined not to tell this story. But, in about 10 minutes, I saw the largest bass I have ever seen in my life come up out of the water.......................................................and lay another acorn right in the middle of that stump.
