Really hate to see this. Good news is 58 senators from both parties are ready to veto the treaty!

This has been going on since the clinton years.  clinton signed the treaty in mexico in 1999 I believe.

The kicker is the US Senate has to ratify it and wouldn't in 1999.  Many of the US Senators, fearing a back lash at the polls, and didn't ratify it under clinton, and have all ready said they will not ratify it under bo.

A 2/3 majority in the Senate is required to ratify a treaty.  So, what is going to happen is anybodies guess.

About 1/3 the way through the link it states…

'Last year, U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kans.) and 57 other senators signed a letter to President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reminding them that the Senate has final say on treaties, and stating their unequivocal opposition to any treaty that would affect civilian ownership of firearms, challenge the authority of Congress to regulate firearms within the United States, or call for an international gun registry.'

hapjack-then,he and the congress both, may have to deal with the largest standing army in the world.......the gun owning American citizens, not to mention about thirty or so pi$$ed off sovereign states and one large republic.

I give,even those slimeballs,more sense than that.

Keep that in mind this November.  Does anyone see Romney supporting the UN treaty against firearms?

I consider Obama a thing, so maybe that doesn't apply to him.

Molo`n labé.  It's Greek and it means "Come and get them."  (Sorry, the original Greek gets translated when I post it.)

If anyone from any government wants my guns, come and get them - but you'll get the ammunition first.  Cool
