Ran the course again today with 27 Campers.  We only have one "hands -on" shooting session with these 2-weekers before shooting the course.  They're shooting from a bench at 50 yd paper targets.  It's steel targets on the course. Average hits for all is 42% but the top dozen shooters are hitting about 40 of the fifty targets.

Kenden, what kind of "attitude" do your fellow educators have toward you? My sister-in-law is a teacher, and, feels that guns are what is wrong with our country, and, is convinced I'm part of the "problem" for promoting the shooting sports.

But, she is "mostly" consertive, about most everything else, loves her teachers union, hates Obooba, she's a walking contradiction.

 She has her "masters", but, is dumb as a bag of hammers about everything else? lol. WALI...................... 

We are a little different here being a small town. My wife who has taught for over 30 yrs. has a section in home safety she teaches about safe gun handling,and they have had some folks come in on carrer day and speak about gun safety and hunting. The difference here is,I don't think I even know anyone that dosen't hunt or at least hasn't been hunting at some point.

Wali - Many of the teachers I work with give me a wide berth - unless there is trouble or conflict.  Then they seek my counsel.  I really don't think they can understand my interest in firearms or the Constitution.  I really don't like a lot of teachers. A mutual respect  for each other has developed between a few of us, but it's just a few.  Not to sound too self-serving, but it's mostly better teachers I've worked with for a while.  With different styles we both produce better results, so they figure I can't be too crazy.  

If you treat kids like adults they respond in kind.  I've given the time-keeping to the kids.  They do it better than I do.  The college kids/camp counselors that act as my range officers are terrific.  I do the orientation and practice shoot, care for the rifles, allocate ammo, stop watches, score sheets, and roll up/post the final results. We ran the program with 17 kids yesterday.  Three of the top five scores were girls.

As far as educators and guns go, Sense we moved up here every teachers home I've been to that my wife has worked with in the past 12 years has had trophy's mounted, wall hangers and they have been very forthcoming about there second amendment rights and have even showed some of there collection.  There was one discussion I got into with a administrator that said there was no need for civilians to carry, She said it wasn't the wild west, I told her if I ever see her getting robed, raped, or otherwise in dire trouble I'll just pull my cell phone and let her know the cops should be there in about 45min to an hour...  She doesn't talk to me much anymore.

We recently had a man get fired from a school district here, He went home, Got his handgun, came back to the school and murdered his boss, The principle.  There trying to say it was an act of passion. WTF

Yes some of the administrators here are trying to get things changed as far as being able to have a loaded gun on school property while school is in session...Legaly.
