If for some reason I think I might need to use any of my 22s for personal defense, I load them up with Agila Maximums. I alternate between hollow point and lead round nose, that way they are getting one of each at sizzling velocity every double tap. They go in my revolvers and rifles the same way, all except my little NAA revolver. It is fed strictly Quick Shocks.-Capt"Jim"

I think they fudged the distance after missing with the first shots and moved closer. Notice the correct time lag between the sound of the shots and the dust puffs at first and after the the camera change the dust puffs are almost instant with the shot, like at maybe a 100 yds.

These days of digital imaging and playback, you can't rely on the "sound" sychronizing with the "video".

Even on your TV broadcasts the words often lag behind the movement of the mouth of the person speaking.

I have fired literally thousands of rounds of .22 rimfire and hundreds of centerfire of different calibers and just love shooting in general.

I recently discovered the Hornady 30gr. V-Max in .22 magnum and it is without doubt the best round I have ever fired. Very accurate, increased range and lethal on these Oklahoma coyotes and bobcats out to 125 yds.

No, I am not campaigning for Hornady, just love the .22 rimfires and if you guys have not tried them yet, you should.

I too have discovered the Hornady 30 gr Vmax in 22 mag and I am getting really good results @100 yards. 50' pistol target inside the 8 ring all day long.

Shot many rounds of 22lr @ 300yds.  We had a small group that met regularly to shoot @ long range with our 22`s. On a windless day i`ve witnessed many sub 8" groups out there. But what is really amazing is most 22 lr rounds will penetrate over 300 pages into a Houston phone book with trauma another 30+ pages,You would not want to be `on site` when one arrived.  axolotl

I was shooting .22lr this morning at 200 yards. They don't make that "thump" that a .308 makes on that steel plate but they still make a pretty good "ding" sound. Plenty enough that I certainly wouldn't want to be down there trying to catch one.

We used to shoot Handgun IHMSA matches at our range with the most powerful handguns around at that time(1982) we had practice about once a mounth and we always had someone that ran out of ammo at practice and wanted to plink at the big targets with a 22lr handgun. The rams weighed 47LBS and were at 200 meters(226 YDS). I had a 7 inch mod 41 Smith and could nock one down with 4 shots with hits in the rump. In the rump only. If I hit them farther forward, they could take 10rds or more. That little 22 will surprise you.
